New close season rules from the AT?

Trouble is they dont stand out like a sore thumb ,i see anglers on the river fishing but not for course fish .

If the chap wants to waste time having the EA going along rivers looking for poachers when fishermen are going about their sport legally then he can post away

But also remember each region may have different rules

A fluff chucker trickling line down a stream at a hundred yards will look no different to an angler using a flout or running ledger ,if fluff chuckers were forced to wear clown suits then the problem would be lessened

Where's the problem? What the bloke says is perfectly true, 'anglers breaking the law during that period stand out like a sore thumb'. If they are not breaking the law then so be it, but those that are deserve to be nicked, plain and simple.

Here's the problem, somebody who should know the law getting it badly wrong!

"the fact is, fishing on rivers, drains and some stillwaters and canals between 15 March - 15 June annually is illegal."

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

My problem is its a set of rules forced on others by those with power and little brains

The close season has nothing to do with fish welfare its people in power and toffs not wanting to be tripping over dirty coarse anglers when they want to fish for game fish

I may go and annoy some over the weekend by metal detecting on the opposite bank in my flouro jacket

Have fun send your 9year old to fish with bread and watch them moan when they remove the trout

Worms,

It seem counter intuitive to this thread. Doesn't it say you CAN fish closed season?

Phone

Precisely Phone, the Environment Agency says we can fish legally yet a private company with an ex policeman as head of "enforcement" is telling us we can't!

Worms,

Ohh - now I understand - thanks

Phone

No problem mate, it's part of our problem....with the guff that the AT spout one would think that they are actually relevant or important, they're not, they're just dangerous to angling!
