Petition the PM, on-line in 2 mins, to save the fish stocks

Climate change is increasingly projected by the fishing industry as an excuse for the recent decline in cod catches around the UK.

While climate is undoubtedly having some effect, the majority of scientists agree that fishing accounts for five times more mortality of cod than any other factor. What’s more, the climate change argument doesn’t fully add up, given that the healthiest cod stock in the UK is off our southwest coast, where the waters are warmest. Furthermore, a scientific study just out today has also shown that cod often prefer warmer waters, even when cooler areas are within reach. Either way, MCS believes that the uncertain affect of climate change on our oceans and fisheries calls for a more cautious approach to management, rather than business as usual.

Thanks for that Henry, just as i thought this is irrellevant as far as the auther is making the point that after ten years or so of non fishing activity there has been no or very little in improvement of the fish stocks! So perhaps your petition referring to ten years is either too little or something else has to be done, as i have said once or twice it is the eu in our case.

ps ows the leg.

cheers barry

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Now at 994 signatures, if your name is not Barry or Wurzel :clap2: please pass onto your friends and ask them if they agree to sign it.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.

I am not sending any Christmas Cards this year, I am instead donating the proceeds to a Charity. It is called the Trubshaw Drinking Fund.

However here is a Christmas message:

A charity pantomime in aid of paranoid schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted; "He's behind you!"

Barry, the leg is getting better, but very slowly.

Seasons greeting to all.

Henry, do yourself a favour mate and post something positive to corroberate your thinking behind the petition to go for ntz's. The attachment regarding the failure of the ntz for the grand banks after ten years does nothing to help your cause.

I haven't had time to look it up, I know it is in there as I read it and originally intended cutting and pasting both paragraphs onto the thread. Haven't got time to do so now, have to go away for three days and am being nagged for being unready.

Whereabouts off the southwest coast do cod go to spawn?

Many thanks for the link. The problem i have with the international catch is that they target one to three year old cod. This is where they do not have a chance to even reach breading age, Molesters.
