Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Now at 994 signatures, if your name is not Barry or Wurzel :clap2: please pass onto your friends and ask them if they agree to sign it.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.

I am not sending any Christmas Cards this year, I am instead donating the proceeds to a Charity. It is called the Trubshaw Drinking Fund.

However here is a Christmas message:

A charity pantomime in aid of paranoid schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted; "He's behind you!"

Barry, the leg is getting better, but very slowly.

Happy Christmas to your good self, Henry. Just looked on the petition and on this fine Xmas day the petition has reached 1012 signatures. Not a bad start, for one month, as I am sure these things snowball. Lets hope it gets some media interest this spring. The diving forums, especially Yorkshire Divers, are very much behind the scheme, which is nice and I have vowed never again to fish for them off Swansea pier. Perhaps we can persuade Wurzel to increase his mesh sizes to allow divers to pass through without difficulty......

Happy Christmas to your fine selves also, Wurzel and Barry, and every one else contributing on this thread and busy signing the petition. Apologies for abstaining from the debating ring lately, but I havent even had a chance to fish (apart from a rather awful three day trip with clients, amongs 40 mph winds and horrible seas!!) I will be leaving you guys a few more bass to catch over the new year, as the fishing gets dire down this end between now and March, so its time to play with Pike and Zander. I wish you both a Safe new year, and Wurzel, I hope you win the lottery. You could then take us "wallies" out and teach us the benefits of your knowledge of boat handling and fish location just for fun!! I look forward to meeting you in the New year.

And lets hope 2007 makes all our dreams come true, cos I cant wait to catch Tuna off the marina....... (well, it was a dream......)

Bloody hard work, I'm off to the river!

I have never met Wurzle but I have always summed him up not just as a commercial fisherman but also an all round angler.

Because of the above there is one thing I do not understand about him, as an angler who undoubtedly loves his dangling sessions I would have thought he would understand that when a RSA is not fishing he is constantly working on where to fish next, tides, baits, weather and what opportunities there are to catch fish in which location.

However there is one thing Wurzle and I have in common, we are both self-employed running our own businesses. There is one golden rule for succeeding you must make a profit and it would be financial suicide to be over critical or ridicule the business you are involved in, living proof of that was the guy selling watches and jewellery declaring publicly that they were worthless trinkets.

A lot of people ask me why I am a sea angler and the answer is this, after fishing seriously for over fifty years I find that now days sea fishing offers the greatest challenge, thirty years ago I could go upstream dry fly fishing in Wiltshire and catch good trout, today I could do the same, forty years ago I could go fishing for plaice, flounders, bass, bream and know I would catch them, today that is not so.

There are probably many reasons for this but over exploitation is an over riding factor.

Unlike many RSAs I do see Wurzle point when he claims we have a hand in the demise of some fish species, our local flounder competitions are scandalous, seeing bags of unwanted fish discarded after the weigh in.

SFCs have a lot to answer for and should be replaced with non-political members and should reflect a true balance of all stakeholders.

I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. Anglers Trust PM

Hehe...... Just the one thing...... I think here is a man torn by his beliefs. The need to pay the mortgage drives him to continue his relentless pursuit of piscine products for the market place. But in private, in the quiet moments, when contemplating life as he steams out to the Knock (and thats a VERY long way, lots of contemplation time) he is ripped to the very core of his concience.......... Now, which smiley is the one for TONGUE IN CHEEK.......??

Back to the poll, now creeping towards the 1400 number. Well done Henry!!

Nothing wrong with my concience, it's as clear as pure mountain spring water.

I fish to live and live to fish.
