Makes sense to wear a lifejacket when fishing that type of mark. All it takes is to slip in and bang your head on the way in and that is that. Having said that I do not possess one !!

Question Andrew,when do wrasse start turning up at the Mull. Depending on the weather was thinkink of trying a sliding float and worm at Arwell Back Bay this weekend - from the flat rock mark - bet I can find it first time. Come on mate I just missed it by about 50 yds last time.

Can you tell me what the tides are for the weekend coming,my tidetable is in the caravan.

Could you dig anything out for Simon Everett. Seems he is dead keen to get a shore tope asap.

I know some were caught last June at Terally. Do they show any earlier in Loch Ryan?

Off to bed now cos falling asleep. Heavy weekend partying and getting up at 04.30 for early shift has done me in!

Snatcher, got a weekend leave! (Don't tell anyone or they might find me some work to do

Hoping to go to West Wales with the Yak - off to see the synoptic chart on the end of the news - hoping for light winds from the south - makes for an easy launch!

There are a few bass turning up here and there - not enough to be reliable, but the more people out there trying the beter the results and feedback will be.

Then next week I'm off to Ireland for a whole week Should be some bass oer there. I'l post some pics - some from Yak, some from shore - and going to try and get a day or two on the loughs for a trout too.

Re. the timing of tope from the shore in Loch Ryan. Tope show up later on the west side than they do in Luce Bay. Most reports of tope in Loch Ryan would be August/September. Early run of tope with smoothies at Auchenlarie normally late Mid-Late May.
