With weather like that I reckon I could pretend to know what I'm talking about :D Just imagine going to work in that everyday. Heaven

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.

Gary - I think paddling speed in a kayak would have these working properly so if you have reasonably weed-free water available to you, might be worth adding to your gear.

Luhr Jensen® Dipsy Diver®

Troll top to bottom with absolute precision!

The original directional diver -- takes your lure as deep as you need it to go. Designed to be easily set to run out a controlled distance to port or starboard. Turn & tighten per settings on back to run down AND out. Positive trip action for unhindered retrieve. Trips open on the strike for easier fighting. Sizes 0, 1, and 3 include snap-on O-ring for up to 20% more depth.

Thanks for that Newt. The waters are very clear and the weed beds are easily seen, these would be ideal, I will check them out on the link. The larger fish are often in the weed and these would be ideal to pass a lure over their noses.

We do have similar trolling plates here but they are more boat orientated.

Nice one Newt  I've been looking for a trolling vane suitable for the kayak. Will get one and give it a go.

GB - Harris had Dipsy Divers in stock. I have a pair for tryng the lakes with - after a ferox one day this year in Loch Awe. accommodation is arranged, but not booked as I am going to find the best season first!

Give Harris a ring or look on their website. The other way is to make your own from plywood. That is what Dad used to uuse for running up and down the gullies for pollock. They trip up if they hit the bottom and being wood float - so you don't lose them. There is a piece on how to make them in the BASS mag.
