Lundy....lunacy....laughable... or maybe even possible?

Sounds like an interesting trip for the scupper owners club. 20 miles there, an overnight stay would have to involve the pub crawl of course and 20 miles home the next day. Some serious Tope fishing around lundy and plenty of pollack too.

As for radio comms a high watt handheld should be fine, if not then one person in the group could fit a fixed unit and the others carry handheld's.

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.

..... an easy flight for a Pelican too ?!*?

If a trip was in the offing then I for one would be game for it. Although my missus would go daft as I have been promising to take her there for years and never got round to it, could always send her a postcard though :D

He's off selling them faster boats. Better hurry before he runs out of stock.

Just made a tentative remark about Lundy to my missus, her reply was "great idea, you kayak over and I will take the ferry and any surplus gear that you and the yakers want to bring over to save you loading the yaks up to much"

It's a hell of a drive from my house considering it's only 28 nm from Stackpole to the jetty on lundy. And only a 10 min drive from my house to Stackpole.

Hi GB,

I have heard rumour of people making the trip from Stackpole as you hinted at. Not alot to see when you're mid channel though!

Maybe you could tack it on as a final leg to your rounds Pembs trip ;)

Regarding the trip in a sit on top, my only comment would be that thigh straps would be essential to reduce the risk of being thrown out in rough water should the weather change. I know that they would be a pain in the deriere for fishing but am sure that they would allow better boat control and a more secure feel.

A 28 mile open water solo trip is a serious commitment, way beyond my capabilities I'm afraid. I'm sure there is someone out there who has done it though, but probably in a traditional SIK.

As for thigh braces, dont need them in the Pelly, it's seriously deep. The biggest part of me (my butt) is below the waterline so it acts like ballast :D

I was thinking more along the lines of Jersey :boat:

If I kept to the shipping Channel from Poole to Jersey I could always Hitch a lift of the Cat when it passes :clap2:
