Until you reach post #16 your account is somewhat restricted. Posts need approval and PM/email facilities don't function.

You were not the only one. The sign up page now has bold, red wording explaining the restrictions on new accounts but you signed up before we made the changes in how it displayed and the notification was sorta stealthy and easy to miss.

Being an AOL customer, you may find that forum generated emails get blocked.

 

AOL are good like that - they block stuff without even bothering you with silly things like asking you if you want to receive email from busy sites

AOL are a pain in th butt. Everyone uses the same IP address.
