500m of 30lb Dacron Braid

I have just purchased 500m of 30lb Dacron Braid for £21.01p including postage I did however fail and still have to find what the normal price is so I am not sure if it was a bargain or not

 

My other buy a ABU 6500ct mag elite however was at £64.00p, I did a good search around and it would appear that the price has increased considerably since I purchased my first one from a local tackle store for £86, RRP is now around £110 and that is reflected every where with an average price of £99.

The new updated mag elite is around £100, you should still be able to get the "old" mag ellites for around £70.

That is what I thought until I started to look, cheapest I found apart from the one I purchased on Ebay was £89.

 

The new model has a RRP of around £124 and the cheapest I have seen it was £107.

Why did you get old-fashioned 'thick' dacron? Or did you mean to say that you've bought some 30lb superbraid like dynon or whiplash? If you got superbraid, then yes, you did get a good price.

Very limited market in the UK for 130lb line, a few guys fishing for skate maybe

Ken, as Guy mentioned, the heavier dacrons are good for wind on leaders.

I have the spool in front of me now and it is French "Derby On" Tortue LA SOIE-NEYME S.A.S. the "O" in Tortue is actually a Turtle.

 

It is a round profile braid and for 30lb a very small diameter colour white with green cross bands. It looks ok to me.
