Comfortable wellies

My old rubbish wellies have finally given up the ghost. So is there actually such a thing as comfortable wellies or are they all moulded and uncomfortable?

Have you tried these, not the most fashionable but are comfortable.

I had the same problem some years ago and found the answer to be neoprene boots that I wear all year round.

My first ones were from Sundridge and you can see my field test at http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/reviews/sundridge.htm They were brilliant, but I eventually had to replace them last year as I also use them to work in and they didn't like barbed wire! Although they're still being advertised on the net I couldn't find any.

However several people including Newt recommended Muck Boots. They aren't cheap, but they are extrememy comfortable. There are several designs, my choice being the heavier duty Esk as there's more protection from barbed wire. I bought these for £62 including postage from Oakbury Welsh Cobs who were very nice to deal with. Go to http://www.oakburywelshcobs.co.uk/muckboots.htm . However many country stores sell them, but may not have all the styles in all the sizes.

P.S. Do make sure that you get a size bigger than your standard shoe size. I take an 8½ shoe and found I needed a 10 boot.

Another possibility would be a pair of Snake Boots. High tops but a regular fabric boot except treated to make it totally waterproof.

These are designed for long days of walking when hunting in snake country. No need for that in the UK but it does make a very useful boot.
