Fishing Whitby Tues 7th Aug

MARTING

Recommended Posts

First time out with Paul and had a great day. The weather was good a bit of wind but ok. Only 6 on board which was great (can't imagine 12 on there). I found the skipper very informative. Told me that the water was a bit murky and Shad's and bait were the order of the day. So me and Daz Mac went mackie bashing.

We had a great hour and enough bait for the rest of the day. The wind picked up a bit but the fishing continued. The guy's using Shad's caught most of the fish which was a learning curve for me has i had not seen this way of fishing before.

Paul fishing from the front of the boat(proving that the fish were there) was pulling em in. He never stopped moving and trying for better productiv fishing. Later in the day on our way in Paul changed his mind and we stopped just off Whitby then the fishing started coming fast. Quite a lot of nice coddling caught and Ling.Pollack. Everone had a good amount of fish to take home. A great day out.

Not sure if any of these pics are yours Martin but they are pictures of Paul's from this week. The lady's cod is nearly 16 pound if I remember correctly. Sound like you had a good days fishing there its a real eye opener the way Paul fishes isn't it. Out of a large area of rough ground he pics out little ledges and other features then if there's nothing there he is off to another mark. It's hard work for the anglers some times but it pays off when you locate the fish.
