Artificial eels - tips and tricks

Went to Brighton Marina on Sat, after the big Bass that have been caught there lately, end result, squat diddle dee, sweet FA, and to boot Snatcher, I've lost two of your nice lures

 

Going to a good mark to try them out on Thursday though

I've gone off braid and back to mono. I have yet to lose a fish to 8lb mono, but have now suffered 3 smashes on 20lb Fireline. Another advantage is that a 600 yard spool of 8lb mono is £4 (from Gerry's) and it is a nice supple mono in ple green. Ties knots well and has not let me down.

Damn Ive just taken the 8lb mono off and installed 20lb firewire! :mad: I caught 3 mackerel and a schoolie before I lost a circlip and my bail arm fell off! but I cant blame the braid for that!

 

I'll stick with it for a bit. Ive also used weighted red gills but recon they are better left alone on as long a trace as you can get away with.

I Love the fact that some of those floats are slow sinking etc, wish we could get them over here,

You can get casting floats from Europe mail order no problem. Askari among others do them.

Salor: I've looked at that site but two problems

 

1: They ain't quite right (the floats) and

2: You have to have a minimuim order of 30 squid or so..

 

Do you have any more leads for the floats mentioned in the link I put up?
