Pie and mash, it is without doubt to Londoners the finest London meal to be had, when i was growing up in London there were a numerous amount of top pie and mash shops sadly now not so many, Manzes only three left seehere. The other name to remember was Cooks now only one left in Goldhawk road next to Shepherds Bush Market, been in there many a time as a nipper.

There is also an F Cook and of course Goddard's all now few and far between.

 

What do i dislike the most any meal described as vegetarian.

Sweetbreads...don't even think about it

 

I'm assuming you don't actually know what they are? Many people think they're testicles, they're not, they're either the thymus or pineal glands from a young lamb, and are absolutely delicious, like most offal they have a strong taste, but wonderful texture.

 

While we're on the subject of sheeps nuts, there's a Pakistani restaurant in York called Akhbars, where the intrepid diner can enjoy sweetbreads, testicles, trotters, tripe and many more wonderful bits and pieces, I'm a regular there and I love it!

Did you ever try Callos con Garbanzos, when you were in Spain, a wonderful mixture of pigs tripe, ears, tail and chickpeas in a garlic and pimiento sauce?

As they say there should be nothing left of the Pig except the oink!

No But Ive had the Jamaican eqiuvalant Stew peas, Wich is almost the same as Above But they use Kidney beans instead of Chick pease Its Ok but watching it Cook Is like the witch scene from Mcbeth

Why not use that ? If you can use a squeak to make bubble and squeak, there must be a recipie for an oink.
