Looks like this cold spell is going to last until next Sunday and it will get a bit milder on Christmas Eve and continue into Christmas Day

So will you be tempted to wet a line?

I will :yahoo:

I'm planning to be on the lake by midday Christmas Eve and will be leaving on the morning of the 27th to go straight to the river Stour (Kentish Stour) for a couple of Chub, then I'll be home later that evening. Really looking forward to it!!

As long as I don't have too much of the 'cooking sherry' in the morning then I will go up the Loddon for a few hours once the boys have gone off to their Dads. Then off down the BA boxing day for a few days, have camper van will travel :D

Not likely! For me Xmas is for the family, especially as this year is my grand-daughter's first. But then, being semi-retired I can fish almost any day of the year.

Mind you, when I was working I hated being cooped up indoors, especially between Xmas and the New Year when I couldn't get much work done because everyone seemed to be on holiday - except me!

I am with Steve

Christmas will be spent with the wife and kids.

then again I have the 27th to the 1st to have a dangle and dangle I will.

Two weeks ago I had a cracking Perch at 2lb 9oz

On sunday I had a 2lb 6oz, lost one at the net which looked like double the size of the other then with ten mins of the match to go was playing a fish which bent the rod double, I was using a 1.1lb hooklength and was surprised by the stick I gave it.

After the bite I hooked the fish and played it right across the pool from an olf lilly bed with some ease.

It must have seen the net in the clear water and promptly made its way all the way back - then snagged itself.

I am convinced it was a BIG BIG Perch and I mean BIG.

I was fishing a match at the time but will return with my super specialist (no Jeeps you cant have it) with proper line for a real good go at the big stripys now I know where they are hiding!!!
