Light Murder Sentences

Recommended Posts

Surely these sentences should have read SEVENTY and SIXTY years respectively.

This was a disgustingly brutal murder which was deliberately filmed

"Judge James Stewart described the attack as "revolting, gratuitous and degrading." Not anywhere near as revolting as the sentences handed down.

I am sure that the judges of today have no idea of how the real world works in these cases. In Australia, there has been a groundswell of ill feeling towards the judiciary, especially when 9 Aboriginals from age 15 to 26 raped a 10 year old girl.

The Prosecutor did not even seek custodial sentences and has since resigned from his position.

You seem surprised at these sentences. Why is that?

Cheers

Are you surprised six years for a cold blooded murder which was filmed ?

I heard about that on an Ozzie radio station. The judge reportedly said that she consented "with at least half" of them. I'm against the death penalty because on the whole it does not work, but I'd like to see that judge swing.

I would give them 90-95 years.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Be interesting to see what John Darwin gets, for swindling some companies out of a bit of cash. As far as I can make out, he's been held in custody since his arrest. I fail to see how he's a threat to society.
