fog?

what are peoples experiences of fishing in fog (course fishing)how does it affect the fishing if at all?

it doesent ,just makes things spooky and you get lost coming back from your car.

i once got lost in a 4 acre field metal detecting ,i decided (i had left my bag at the gate and needed a cloth) to walk straight ahead and then follow the hedge round till i found the gate ,it took ages i recon i had just missed the gate and then went in the opposite direction true enough 20ft past the gate was my footprints in the dewy grass

Good for pike on my local water , i think its somthing to do with the high pressure as Steve Burke mentions in his earlier thead.

i went down to peatling pools on sat am, v.foggy til midday, but certainly didnt put the fish off.

 

i had 6 carp plus some bits, had a lovely 8lb common.

Once steered right under the Claremont Pier at Lowestoft, something I would not intentionally do even on a clear day! And we never touched the pier at all !

Was out on a big reservoir once when the fog came down.Despite having a compass (nigh on impossible to use when you cant see anything to take a fix on!) we had to follow the bank all the way around to get home!not much cop on an 800 acre water!

it is certainly freeky up in norfolk on the fog, especially when i read the book ghost stories of the norfolk broads ghost

you should try romney marsh that used to be spooky on a sunny day,and on our pennine way walk somedays the quietness was deafening ,no bird no people no nothing very strange

one whole day was spent walking through a forest ,TOTAL silence ,very dark and nothing living under the canopy the trees were so close ,not a single bird on coming out the world came alive again ,very strange
