LED bulb and radios

Recommended Posts

My wifes bedside lamp had an old style bulb which blew. When I inserted an LED bulb and switched it on the radio next to it got a buzz on it. I tried different stations to no avail. Even a different LED bulb didthe same. As we can't get the old style bulbs now am I faced with taking a punt on a new radio ?

They can do that as those mini flouro ones effect remote controls ,as to bulbs you can still buy them ,not from sainsburies but elswhere have a google

There is some concern about led bulbs circulating the web but it could be true or just marketing for other versions i dont know

Remember asbestos used to be good and smoking fags reconmended lol

Incandescant or halogen is the thing to look for

We use Energy Saving bulbs (which are not LED) in our bedside lamps with no problems to Radio alarm clocks of which we both have next to them.

There I go again, talking rubbish (again) yes we have Energy Saving bulbs all over rest of house - Except for the bedside "Touch" Lamps which are Halogen, in a normal looking glass globe.:idea:

Twas our old Bedside lamps which had the Energy Savers.

There are great concerns in the Maritime world about LED's lately. On board ship they are interfering with Vhf radio transmissions, weakening the signal strength, and similarly with Ais signals.
