A red letter day

This refers to a fantastic day many years ago when I had lots of fishing pals and Pike fishing on Sunday on the Military canal was sacred.

Used to love fishing the canal ,caught my one and only sea trout at the very end where it meets the river .Ace perch that end aswell .Spent most of my time at the Hythe end though not having a car in the late 60's meant you only ventured further by bus or by persuading your mate to drive you.

It was a bit of a drive from London every week but we never missed. Sometimes had to break the ice.

I thought it was lost. Elton found it for me and I thought others might still like to read it.

Re-living it was as good today as it was then. Days like this don't come around very often.
