Maggot & Method Feeders For Nowt'.

Ey' Up again lads & lasses - yes it's me, playing again (now I have a Man Cave) Here's 2 Maggot & 1 Method feeders I made from bits which could have gone in the bin.

Left one is from a used, 12g CO2 air gun cartridge (end sawn off). Middle one is the Mouthpiece from an Inhaler & Right one is from a Sweetex dispenser. The "Inline" tubes for two of them are just Plastic, Swizzles Lolly sticks (they fit the generic Method & quick change beads perfectly)

The weights are from (Middle) an old 30 gram cage feeder. Right is from a cut down MFI flat pack spanner, both stuck on with a glue gun.

The Steel, plated, CO2 Cartridge has enough weight of its own to use "As Is". Just open up the cartridge piercing a bit  & squash the swivel eye to fit through, pass it down the bore & re-open the eye. (I just opened out the piercing with small centre punch by hand so it won't cause a sharp burr)

Maybe you know an Air Gunner to source the spent CO2 cartridges?? They can't be re-filled & are just thrown away.

Might need to make the the Lolly stick tube slightly bell mouthed at one end with a wooden skewer for a "lead in". That's all it needs!!

Here's 2 more Method Feeders, the yellow one is the top half of an 'Elbow Grease' spray. White one off a different spray.

Thought I'd put them on in, as yet, 'unpainted'.

Martin, why don’t you get involved with making some decent Wagglers (Onions & straight & bodied), sticks, Avon’s etc. good ones are getting harder and harder to Source these days now that the Pole has become so common; and the parts are quite easily obtained from the bankside (wildfowl feathers) and from the web or hobby shops 🙂.

If I didn’t already have so many floats myself then that is what I might have started doing.

You might even become the new Andrew Field🙂

Hi Keith,

you mean like these??, a lot of the wagglers are out of plastic drinking straws. + a baiting Needle out of an Earwax removal tool handle & a Darning needle with the back of the eye cut off.

A lot of the 'Top and Bottom' (2nd pic') floats are out of various, Corporate, Logo'd Pens, which I conned from Reps over the years (They Never refused in case it helped, Oil the wheels towards making a sale) Ok, so very far from "Shop Finished", but all are "Water Tested" (In wife's Vases) & work very well.

The 3rd pic' are materials I'll be using Next.
