I should realy stop bing presumptuous Where abouts is Tyningham Beach in relation to Dunbar? I might give it a go. Tried Belhaven, no bass but loads of Flounder and the odd Turbot.

Cheers

hi keith,

most fish are sexually anamorphic (think thats the right term)

females are larger than males, so the male fish stop at a certain weight eg congers, males top out at 15-20lb, common skate, males top out at 140lb females 400+ etc.

BTW do you still want gordons KIS rod case??

hi keith, congratulations on your first bass. i used to catch a few from the shore and small boat using crab.i started to catch bigger ones, and much more frequently, when i started lure fishing for them.i found a small red gill eel, on a 2m trace, with a light lead, very effective.just whang it out, and vary the retrieve speed, until you find what works.best of luck mate! :D
