Its a dangerous game!

was fishing west bay pier 3 hours down from high tide when i saw a wall of water heading right at me, assumed foetal postion as too late to run, when it passed looked behind as there was another angler with a tilley, but he had gone, i thought hed been washed off but hed seen the wave coming, picked up his tilley & ran, the bugger could have shouted.

 

everything i had was washed down to the shelter at the end of the pier

no we used to go out from pompey even when the ferries were afraid to ,go out miles in kids inflatable dingies ,fish from lilo`s ,out in fog with only a compass ,no radio ,no lights at night, anchored to the turning bouys in cowes week (naughty language from posh types though ) lost our tender with all the petrol in for the outboard ,been boarded by customs and the navy (for acting suspiciosly :confused: ) tied up to HMS Birmingham (cheeky Matelot asked us what we were up to :mad: ) loads of mad stuff we warn others of ,the most dangerous thing ? i suppose was drinking in navy pubs wearing leather and long hair in gosport,nowadays its much safer there is no navy and aldershot pubs not having squadies to cater for are now trendy wine bars how boring life is for these youngsters

we anchored up near benbridge one stormy night ,in the morning i glanced to the anchor chain at the head of my bed to see the end was actually fixed to the boat inside by a bit of bailer twine the next weekend the very heavy bitt we tied the anchor to was ripped off and all that stopped us losing the complete chain was the nice new pin that held the chain to the inside of the cabin floor

theres bugger all squaddies in aldershot full stop ,even the gurka`s are in folkestone ,milletts are complaining of abundance of sleeping bags and theres a green blazer glut

the biggest fun we had in aldershot was going to the fleapit (now a night club) watching a double bill of bruce lea movies ,it seemed to stir something in the soldiers they beat the crap out of each other in the street ,complete with sound effects the mp`s made sounds of pickaxe handles hitting bodies which took away their kung foo spree

i was mad when i drunkenly stubbed my fag out on the side of a rubber dingy a mile off bognor :mad:

had my mates topless girlfriend in my dingy and he was scaring sailboarders with his butt naked fishing skills and`cause it was larger than his dingy ,girls cant paddle at frantic rate for toffee :mad: and then she had the gall to kick me in the nuts (in the park opposite the pier)for finishing the first 5gall barrel of bulmers trad and had to walk back to the car for the second barrel ,typical woman save their life and get a kick in the nads :mad:

Winter, unlike some, chesters (like others) has been there and survived to tell the story, not like some that just pontifacte about it.
