Mackeral news

Good the hear the mackeral are in in the firth of Forth. Does anyone know if they are in further North.

I am thinking of a session off the rocks just south of Stonehaven.

wouldnt know mate, but its worth an early morning trip to fife if you want to catch lots, but when i mean early, i mean early...even the "mackerel kings" know about tide timetables now!!

Mackeral have been in the Moray Firth for over 3 weeks now and in good numbers ,taken from both shore and boat when i was at home last trip Dave.

Plenty of time yet mate and the best is probably to come. Last year they were still around well into September and there were even some being caught in October (although mainly the odd single). I even saw one caught at Scateraw Harbour in November!

Blimey, another new species, Mackeral. With the demise of old species, a new one is good news. I wonder if they are anything like the old Mackerel that we used to see?
