Hey fellah, whats the point in replying in some cryptic fashion then slamming the shutters down on the thread?? Surely you must know you only asked more questions than you answered by doing so?!

 

Now I don't know much about what goes on between you and Mr M behind the scenes, but what I DO KNOW is I pm'd him tonight asking him to fire up a decent off topic discussion which we could get our teeth into.........he did that, and he did it with style and didn't cuss, swear or bring the board into disrepute in any way as he put his question/discussion topic forward in a fair and thought provoking manner, of that there can be no dispute/question.

 

Newt, killings might be a frequent thing in the US but they are not here although they are sadly growing in frequency.........to discuss it here in the off topic area seems fair enough to me, specially given one of our members suffered such a similar and sad loss only recently.

 

Having an issue with a poster is one thing, but making it personal by blatting a topical thread which was put forward in a thought provoking and fair way is out of order IMO, and then slamming the shutters down on the subsequent discussion is just..............well, excuse me for saying so but its just so bloody american! Sorry for saying whats on my mind, but at least give me credit for saying whats on my mind.

If you think a topic about the killing is in order, by all means start one. Just please do not ask the members to speculate on what they would do if their own child/children killed someone in that manner. Hypothetical questions are usually fine but that one would have led to no good place.

What Mr M did (and for the sake of other users......this is Mr M, Newt has given me the priviledge of using this name) was to open up a thread concerning the man who was kicked and beaten to death in Warrington by a gand of youths. In the opening post by myself , i simply asked a question.......what would other members think / do to their children if it were their children who had done the fatal deed.(Oh by the way , this is not a question)

The entire thread was removed and i have (Mr M ) been suspended for doing so.!?! But yet in the next breath i am told that i can use this username.

 

I (yet again) find myself apologising for something i have no idea of what i am apologising for.

As Phil states , there was nothing untoward in the thread (not as far as i'm concerned ) no swearing / insinuation / dig at other members / racist comments / lies .....nothing whatsoever.

 

I can thoroughly understand a thread being pulled for the above , but as i say , it contained none of them. And then to be suspended for it is beyond a joke .......Why?

Yes the issue in question is / could be a sticky one , but this is an open topic up for discussion , and far worse ones have been discussed in the past...so why remove this one and suspend a member. I recently put a thread up containing a video of "Super Mario " the thread was consequently closed / removed due to excessive swearing (which i did fore-warn members of in bold capitals underneath the link) . Anyway , i was sent a pm from Newt telling me that there was a "bit too" much swearing for the forum , OK message received and understood.

Could anyone let me know exactly where i have overstepped the mark (as to be suspended ) , because i damn well don't have a clue.

By the way "BULLDRAGON" is my uncle / work partners' username , to which Newt has already said i can use. I will not mis-use this username in anyway as it isn't mine to maltreat.

Thanks for the clarification MR M, no wonder Newt was so defensive last night!! I was wondering how you would address the issue as you have a tendency to rant a bit, but found your posting to be perfectly fine.

 

Newt, why should we not surmise as to what we'd do if we found one of our kids had been involved in something like this? It could happen! I wonder what the kids parents in this particular case are thinking? PErhaps this is part of the problem, not really knowing hat and with wom are kids are doing?

 

Loads of questions and loads of discussion would have resuslted from this thread, and IMHO newt was wrong to junk the thread and even more wrong to suspend Mr M for initiating it.

LOL! I don't think ANYONE could actually orchestrate Mr M, he is without doubt a law unto himself.

 

I merely suggested (cheekily) that he post up a debate issue...........he did but it vanished before I could even type my reply. :-(

Judy , i can thoroughly understand where you are coming from and my sincerest condolences go out to GC. The removed thread was never ever meant to upset anyone (least of all ) GC.

In my opinion i think it is / was an issue that deserves addressing with just debate.

What i cannot get my head around is why i have been suspended..........(i want Mr M back , i don't like Bulldragon that much, lol)
