General

A good week for angling, long daylight hours, and it is  fishing excellent after rain and storms, even though water temperatures have dropped and rose a bit, then dropped again.

Some excellent specimen fish caught through the day as well as at dawn and dusk. Rudd on the drop on maggots have filed nets up as well as nets full of skimmers on meat cubes, sweetcorn, worm, and also pellet. Carp and tench have been very fussy with hook baits and fresh mussel, prawn and worm cocktail and paste or pellet have been doing exceptionally well. Paste is doing OK, try  up in the water for Ide and orfe, Roach will do well fishing mid to just of the bottom on pellet and maggot,

Some stunning crucians have came out on maggot and cubed meat however these are tight in the reeds. Perch on worm under overhanging reeds are caught in normally singles, but early and late you will see huge movements of fish and even part shoals coming up out of the water to catch insects-great to see!

Lookout

Some good weights both for pleasure and match lads, alter your method to waggler or top 3 in margins, top 4 & waggler for straight in front off the bottom or up in water, quiver tip with bomb or feeder across to far bank tight to margins, ledger make sure you are just of the bottom. Best to feed margins left and right and out in front of second shelf, not forgetting to keep far bank going till fish dry up.

Maggot, chopped worm and caster  for silvers, try watering down angel pellets and add boiled hemp to make a groundbait base for bream,  pellet, paste mussel, prawn, sweetcorn for carp or if this fails go onto multiple maggots on the hook and angel pellets or maggot as feed.

Bowes

Some good silvers out in pleasure sessions with carp being very fussy eaters, mussel over angel pellets has pulled in some good catches, carp have been feeding up in margins and up in the water so always bring your tip rod as back up to pole, waggler, or ledger. Eight twenties have been out however only one was a mirror?

Best time is dusk and dawn for carp in numbers as well size so season ticket holders gaining an advantage over pleasure day ticket holders.

Bassetts

This is a great pond, its rather hot when fishing when the sun is out, but  some very good sized silvers, rudd, roach, ide, golden orfe, great skimmers, crucians average a lb, carp to 10lb, koi to 12lb, tench to 3lb, plus gudgeon. This pond is good for fishing when windy or if you want a change of pond to try out. This is a great maggot pond, also pellet, sweetcorn, margins fish great, tight in reeds and get rudd on the drop, roach and tench just of the bottom whilst water temperatures are good.
