Week ending 17th February, 2013 – report by Marlene Mc Laughlin

Brilliant catches once again at Cashel this weekend using small nymphs and small assorted lures.

Christopher McKinley and Vincent Harkin (Gleneely, Co. Donegal) had a brilliant time using small wets and bloodworms to make their splendid catches.  Vincent banked eight in total taking two home weighing an amazing 7lb 4ozs and 2lb 10ozs.  Vincent released his three trout one of which was estimated to be 6.5lb.  John Skelly (Portstewart) banked one and lost four trout which took a size 10 hare’s ear.  Martin Bradley, Kevin Mc Callion and John Hasson (Dungiven) released five between them which took small nymphs and small lures.  Pearse Mc Gill (Lavey) was teaching fly-fishing to his friend for the day and managed to bank a couple of trout.

Well done to all!
