A Message From The Environment Agency

If you have an interest in the environment and would like to have your say on how the environment is managed in the North West, now is your chance.

We are looking for new recruits to play an active role in their community by joining one of our Regional Advisory Committees – the Fisheries, Ecology and Recreation Advisory Committee (FERAC).

The purpose of the committee is to advise the Environment Agency on its duties to maintain, improve and develop salmon, trout, freshwater and eel fisheries, as well as recreation and conservation issues.

Vacancies are available in the following two categories;

– Fisheries
– Recreation

Applicants who have broad expertise of either or both of these areas are welcome to apply. Meetings are held three times a year at North West regional office in Warrington. Members bring their interests and ideas to the table and discuss how the Environment Agency is run. Although members do not receive a salary, the role is suited to those looking for self-development and a great sense of achievement.

For more information, or to request an application form, contact Julie Edge on 01925 542122 between 9.30am and 4.30pm (Mon- Fri). Completed applications must be submitted by 12 May 2008.
