Golden Balls Fishing Charity held another successful charity match on Sunday, 6th February, 2011 to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, this time a Pike Match at Monk Lakes, Marden, Kent (http://www.monklakes.co.uk).
The kindness of Monk Lakes in donating the specimen lake and river for the event helped Golden Balls raise £745.50.
The match draw took place at 0800hrs and the match ran from 0930hrs through to 1530hrs. Sixteen entrants braved the cold, windy weather: Del Sturrock, John Chambers, Mick Hamer, Lee Reed, Paul Goldsmith (aka Tetly), Barry Cale, James Chadwick, Mick Collins, Barry Flack, Scott Almond, Mark Mawhinney, Roy Smith, Trevor Dyer, Danny, Matt (aka Stretch) and Tom Dickensen.
Congratulations must go to Barry Flack in 1st place with an overall catch of 46lb 3oz from the river, pictured below with a 15lb 6oz pike.
Del Sturrock caught a total of 32lb 10oz from the specimen lake putting him in 2nd place.
The event was organised by Committee Member, Paul Goldsmith (aka Tetly) shown here with Lee Reed who was in 3rd place with an overall catch of 21lb 10oz. Thanks go to Karen Dyer, Ashley and Will Izzard who were Marshalls for the day.
