A reminder once again of the EA Hotline number should you suspect people are stealing fish from any of our waters 0800807060. The more calls that are received about possible incidents the more likely the EA are to increase patrols in the area concerned.
 
On the River Great Ouse at Wyboston Jason Marsh caught perch of 2lb 12oz, 2lb 4oz and 2lb 2oz along with tench of 5lb 6oz and 4lb plus a 17lb 8oz pike.
 
Nearby on North House Lake Mark Traynier caught a 17lb mirror, Dean Nicholson a 17lb common, James Muncaster a 21lb 7oz common, Mark Ridgeway commons of 27lb 8oz, 14lb and 12lb. Luke Smith had a real red letter session banking the mirror known as The Wanderer at 29lb 8oz along with commons of 29lb 7oz, 26lb 7oz, 24lb 20lb 1oz and 14lb 2oz, Phil Urquhart was well pleased with his 27lb 2oz common which fell to a Starmer bait, Ashley Irvine tempted the best common of the week at 30lb 2oz and followed it up with a 23lb 9oz mirror and 22lb 2oz common in his next session. Josh Hammersley got amongst them and over two sessions landed commons of 28lb 8oz, 19lb 5oz, 15lb 14oz, 10lb 1oz and 9lb 9oz plus a 20lb 7oz mirror.

Common Carp

The South Lagoon is fishing well for roach and skimmers. Simon Heath fished the Lagoon and had eight bream to 6lb 4oz, perch of 1lb 14oz and 1lb 10oz, pike of 8lb and 7lb and eels of 3lb 4oz and 3lb 2oz. Dan Heath was on the same venue where he caught tench of 5lb 8oz and 4lb 8oz plus a bream of 8lb.
 
Michael Hodge visited Beckerings Reservoir and landed a nice scaley mirror of 17lb. Mark Ridgeway was also at Beckerings where he landed seven to mid doubles. Ric Iles who has been doing battle with monster Ebro catfish (see below) had to settle for something rather smaller when he caught a baby pike from Beckerings Reservoir.
 
Ric Iles has just got back from a carp & catfish holiday on the River Ebro with his friend Daz and the duo managed some stunning fish. Ric landed a colossal catfish of 155lb plus another of 124lb and a 40lb common with Daz having a 124lb catfish.

The winner of our September 2012 photo competition which closes on 30th September 2012 will receive a terrific Starmer Baits bait package. It is open to anyone (members and non members) submitting a digital photo taken on any Luton AC controlled water and it can be of absolutely anything eg a sunset on the canal, a nice fish, wildlife etc. The photos submitted cannot be over a month old, the judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result. Baby pikeWe also have a photo competition purely for the predator angler sponsored by King of the Pond www.kingofthepond.com It is open to anyone submitting a digital photo of a pike, zander, chub, perch, eel or catfish caught from a Luton AC controlled water. The photos must have been taken on or after 1st June 2012 and the closing date for entries is 31st March 2013. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the result.
