All 3 lochans are open for fly and bait fishing. 8am – 5pm.
The ponds have a huge number of fish in them for the time of year. Many anglers bagged their limits this week as a result. The key was fishing very deep and slow.
Many specimen sized fish were caught this week including 4 double figure trout – 14lb 2oz over-wintered rainbow G McKinlay (Falkirk), 12lb 8oz rainbow I Sharp (Kincardine), 11lb 4oz rainbow R McCallum (Bannockburn), 10lb 8oz rainbow Goth A/C (Fallin). The fishery is constantly being stocked with many double figure fish.
Best Flies this week: Black /Green Fritz, Olive Dancer, Silver Humungus, PT Nymph, Bloodworm, Black Buzzer/Cruncher. Best Bait: Orange or White Powerbait, Worms and Maggots.
