Another good week for fishing sport. Many anglers were rewarded and plenty of fish were being caught in all three ponds, using the correct tactics. Most of the week the fish were around 2 to 3 feet deep taking a variety of small lures and flies. Those fly fishing for brown trout have done really well using CDCs and Klinkhammers catching many up to 5lb. Rainbows, Blues also featured.
Best flies: Mini-Lures, Diawl Bach, HH Damsel, Buzzers, Traditional Wet Flies.
Best Baits: Maggots, Worms, Mepps Spinners.
Mr D Harkins (Grangemouth) caught largest fish of the week – a 14lb Rainbow Trout in his basket of 5 for 24lb. G Morton (Glasgow) caught a 12lb rainbow trout.
