Zip - there aren't many black bass in the UK since conditions aren't right for successful breeding in most cases. Largemouth need warmer water and smallmouth need clearer water. However, they've been stocked enough that you do have a few.

 

Mark had a point as well since it is possible the term 'sea bass' did migrate across the pond from this side where the term is used for bass similar to yours to keep down confusion with striped bass (fresh or salt water - they don't care and can move from ocean to lake) and the ever present black bass.

Nice bass mate,well done.Never been on this forum for yonks must keep looking in once and a while :)

 

How would you feel yaking up the river with this 12' croc swimming past???

It happened to me in oz about 3 weeks ago.Mind you I was in a pontoon boat and not a yak,still scary stuff cos a croc had just taken a crab potter a few weeks earlier
