I went to sell on eBay this afternoon and first of all was asked to complete a short teach in as last time out I inadvertently blasphemed and allowed myself to praise ebay by using the actual WORD "ebay" in feedback! LAST time I do that!! It would be better abusing the Lord Mayor! So anyway I complete the sermon and answer the 14 questions. Only one that I didn't get right according to ebay, that was a question as to if such and such happened and so and so occurred what would occur. Well basically I said the power Seller would be ignored? (It was about listing something you were not allowed to) And I said that it would be the Power seller who would basically get away with it, ebay said no one would. But still think I was right!! Anyway, I did the jumping through of hoops etc,. and then put together my listing and went to list. well of course not before having to go over it twenty times and not being allowed to list as a charity donation. so having to yet again alter the blurb and ...... Well anyway I come to after some half an hour to list and WHOA!!! I could not list as I did NOT have a credit Card on file to pay for my ebay fees?? So how HAVE I been paying all these years? Well apparently by clicking on the Pay Pal logo when the bill came in! And so I go to log in and setup a payment by card in Pay Pal. well OK I don't have a Credit Card which is WHAT they want! And I certainly do NOT have a UK Bank Account! (The DEBIT card actually belongs to Mum and I pay my pension into that.) Anyway so I have to go to Pay Pal and login and then am told I can actually use a debit card IF I have a logo on it I.E. Visa or suchlike and just happens this is a Visa Debit card. So I am IN!! OH NO YOU'RE NOT! As you are already using that card for a Pay Pal account you cannot use t to pay you ebay account??? So what the FICK have I been using all these years?? Well basically I am now NOT allowed to sell on ebay?? Until I get a New CREDIT CARD OR open a new Bank account or a NEW Debit card??? Sorry is it just me?? What a load of tosh!! I am NOT about to do ANY of the above!! I'm simply NOT! But I can hardly wait till I get back the reply from the ebay customer services rep who replies!! What are the chances of getting a STANDARD canned REPLY to THIS one!!!

I can only say that would be a VERY small price to pay if I was ALLOWED to take my number 2 daughter (Either of them in fact!) out anywhere me old mate! Enjoy it while it lasts :) PS That was NOT aimed at you by the way!!)

For what it's worth, heaven and high water would NOT stop me doing ANYTHING I was asked to do (and Mum asked too.) Mum died because it was her time but it would not have been long anyway because I was certainly ready. Having said all that I can REALLY put myself in your shoes and say it is FAR from easy! The THING to remember Barry and Zig and all out there who are in a SIMILAR position is this. IF "Nursing Care" is required then the NHS picks up the tab for ALL aspects of care!! And that is ALL costs and having a CATHETER inserted is MEDICAL CARE!!! And that in it's turn entitles you to get a LOT better care for your rellies!! Having been in a similar situation myself here in France I can only say i APPLAUD the lot of you! It is NOT an easy thing, but OH! It is ever so rewarding I think!! Main difference being here in France there was NEVER any QUESTION of who paid for what! The GOVERNMENT ALWAYS looks after the older people amongst us!! If ONLY it were the case in the UK!!
