  4. heres the reply from oftel ,looks like a case of lump it or like it Our Ref: CR/536792 Dear Mr D Granger Thank you for your recent email dated 6 October 2002 regarding BT Openworld and the new limits on their Anytime and Surftime packages. We have noted your comments and we appreciate that you are concerned about these changes, which introduce new useage limits of 120 hours per month on Surftime and 150 hours per month on Anytime. We have made a registration of your complaint. Oftel has already been made aware of the changes to the terms and conditions that BT Openworld are making to their services and we have seen the text of a letter that BT Openworld has sent out to its customers. These changes come into effect on 1 November 2002 follow on from those ones effected from 5 June 2002, when BT Openworld reduced its daily internet use limit for Anytime and SurfTime customers from 16 to 12 hours out of any 24 hour period. Oftel understands that the reason why BT Openworld has taken these actions is to maintain quality of service to the majority of customers who do not log onto the service for such long durations. BT Openworld's contract allows it to make such changes so long as it gives its customers sufficient notice and allows them the option of terminating the agreement if they are unhappy about the changes in those terms. Oftel has no powers to require BT Openworld to maintain the existing arrangements for daily use of the Internet. 10. with nortons you can allow cookies by default to certain sites you use a lot ,but it can warn you whilst on that site of any others ,even using THIS site a cookie from "skrinkle" was detected and stopped
  11. take a look at parked motorcycles i have seen many with the tyres on the wrong way round ,most have the rotation arrow on but some dont ,anyone replacing a tyre after a puncture (although most are tubeless) can increase the danger of coming of by forcing the water to the centre of the tyre by having it on backwards by mistake
  12. i would think an offroad course would be far more benificial ,it would certainly improve your ballance and the greatist help would be looking ahead for hazards ,a race course is deliberatly made safe for the riders so a higher speed can be attained ,apreciating hazards and anticipating what other road users are up to are far better than seeing how fast you can go had a go on brother inlaws ninja ,frightened the pants of me ,VERY easy to go fast before you could look down it was at 70 in second alright on a nice dual carraigeway but not on surreys minor roads,i stick to my honda because it doesnt go fast and i like going fast and have the court summonses to prove it  so i`l save my money and stick to my put-put balance also depends on the bike design and the driver sitting position ,i have had the pleasure of owning several lambretta scooters (told you i have ridden lots of machines) these because of the engine layout were a hazard on cornering but a zundapp scooter was a great improvement as the engine was mid mounted .is your son of average build and weight as these effect the cornering ,the rear shocks may be too hard / soft for his build? 13. years ago there used to be an event for metal detector users at brighton called called the" brighton beach clean" it always got press attention but seems to have disapeared ,i suspect the council couldnt be bothered to pick up 10`s of full bin sacks on a sunday
  14. the scads may have spotted the prey and came up to join in ,i have noticed if you bring a fish to the surface too fast it cannot dive (i suppose its swim bladder gets effected) and they take a minuet or so to dive (if the seagulls dont get them) also their eyes blow up like little balloons maybe this was the cause?
  15. i have seen one like it in use also the setee with standard lamp they cause "double takes" every where but what happens if you hit anything very little protection could come from one bed and if your lucky end up in a hospital one if not a box i also saw in the seventies a m/cycle with a coffin as a sidecar ,saved on body bags i expect
  16. be VERY carefull melting lead DO NOT use aluminium pots ,but get an iron one or a large iron ladle ,if you have a garden vac or similar blower a great blast furnace can be made using your barbeque it melts lead very fast and keeps in your mrs good books (except it burns through the barbi very quick) keep the moulds hot and the resulting weights will be finished better, any moisture and youl get a lead explosion
  17. buy a through action 2lb tc rod for carp, its very forgiving and can handle any fish (eventually) in a relativly snagfree lake ,a bait runner is just a reel which uses a seperate clutch to enable line to be taken by a running fish (so your rod cannot be pulled into the lake),its just an improvement on loosening the spool clutch used in days of old a turn of the handle or clicking the free spool button lets you wind in the fish for match fishing a 12 to 14ft rod is used ,all with a decent reel and the clutch set correctly will handle most fish including carp [ 07. 19. i for 1 hate modern tyres ,they are designed for fair weather riders ,yes they have excellent roadholding providing the roads are like racetracks without real life potholes ,loose gravel and manhole covers ,give me tyres that dont resemble tyres that are worn out (slicks) i have ridden many bikes in my life from 900cc bmws through 500cc motor marini`s down to the honda 90 i ride now ,modern bikes even small ones boast their horse power but give me my put-put any day ,where in the winter are all these 1400cc monsters  i ride mine every day winter or summer it is extremly forgiving and the centre of gravity is very low ,snow just ride round with your feet on the ground ,modern bikes are intended to be looked at by pre menstrual girls but not ridden ,honda 90 is the bike for general riding and commuting ,40 million people cant be wrong
  20. as the low paid cannot afford extra pensions and the gov are thinking of raising the pension age to 70 they will have to work till they die ..literally .my mum died at 59 so didnt get to pension age and my old man worked till he died at 69 because he couldnt afford to retire he even had to wriggle out of claiming disability pension so he could work (he needed a triple bypass) so job for life in their case definatly [ 07.
