    Salami

No, not really considered it: earlier in this topic it was pretty much established that we don't have the right weather in this country to air dry meat products, I can't think of anything new to bring to the party in that respect. I've made my own Bacon before now and a sort of Ham from Duck breast, I wasn't overly impressed with either. I also struggle to find a good coarse pate. I've made my own a few times, and like the Ham and Bacon the result hasn't always been what I've wanted and it concerns me making anything in large quantities if I'm not happy with the recipe, (or maybe my execution of it). Plus there's only so many hours in the day and many other things to do. It should be easy to buy these things. Why can't grumpy old gits have convenience foods too? Perhaps I should move to France.

    Salami

The struggle to find good salami goes on, I don't buy ready sliced stuff in packs so Tescos are ruled out, Sainsburys now only stock a very mild and sloppy Saucisson Sec, (not very sec at all really), Waitrose sometimes have something more interesting but not always. Lidl stuff I've tried and it wasn't good, just cheap. Almost everywhere I look I can find a half dozen types of Chorizo, I don't mind Chorizo , but it's not Salami, it makes a decent pasta sauce with some prawns and plenty of garlic, but that's about it for me.I have no other use for it. I've just taken delivery of an ebay order from these people below and the search may be over for a while, only tried one so far but it was good. https://wildgamemeat.co.uk/collections/salami
  4. I guess he didn't have much time for Chub then? Cold January days just scream Chub and cheesepaste to me. I don't think Ican nominate a least favourite month, I don't like fishing in foggy weather, never had much success then, (if any) but any other time can be good for something.
  5. When I was a lot younger, there was a garage just around the corner from me, it was on a fairly busy road, (Crouch Hill, if you really want to know) next door to the garage a friend of mine ran a corner shop (which wasn't on a corner but it best describes it), and one day he observed the following. One of the mechanics has his van parked half on the road and half on the pavement outside the garage, he's gone to put a toolbox back in the side door of the van (on the road side), a passing car hit the toolbox and the mechanic did several pirouettes along the side of the van before falling in the road. He was more or less uninjured but quite shocked and was carted off to hospital. The bossman came out and asked where he was, when he was told, "he's gone to hospital", his first words were, "I'll clock him out then."
  6. I don't want anything Phone. I can't play the trumpet, but I'm not averse to blowing one now and again.
  7. You're cherry picking. Why not answer the question in the rest of my post? (I already know b c won't.) I'll reproduce it here to save you searching. Like most of this topic we're going back over old ground again, the original referendum that took us in was a bigger fix than the one that is taking us out. Is it any wonder that we've moaned about it ever since? Remember the wine lakes and cheese mountains? How much more crap like that didn't leak out? How did the Frogs treat the UK over BSE and Scrapie? Just like a totally separate country, not some part of a European state, where was the benefit then? Nobody; absolutely nobody, knows what the future for the UK holds after Brexit . Anything that anyone tells you about the long-term future is a guess, nothing more. As for taking away our liberty and rights , that's laughable. We'll be getting them back once we leave the EU, answerable only to our own elected politicians and our own laws and customs.
  8. When would you propose we stop having referendums on the same question? Is it only when the result is what you want it to be? Let's pretend that we have another referendum and the vote is to stay - what then? Do the leavers then bleat and whinge as many remainers have done up to now until we have another referendum? We had the referendum. You had your chance. You lost. Get over it.
  9. You're forgetting that the majority of the populace voted to leave the EU. That same majority can also vote out any government that reneges on the referendum result. Stop your incessant whinging, and prepare to leave.

  11. Absolute begonias!! Up against the wall with the lot of them. If someone can explain to me in a satisfactory manner why I should respect the Royal Family I might consider it, until then I'll continue with my view that they are only the Royal Family because their ancestors were bigger murdering bastards than my ancestors. This is not something that warrants my respect.
  12. It does: 28 mass killings in the US in October. A mass killing in the US is one where the body count is four or more. (if I was listening to the news correctly). ...........but don't forget, it's nothing to do with guns. Edit: mass shooting might be a better description, you might not need to die to become a statistic. https://www.massshootingtracker.org/data
  13. . Money, money, money! You're obsessed with money. Try thinking of something else for a change.
  14. I wasn't aware that my vote, (and the other 17,410,741) had "sell by" dates.
  15. Ten points required now from the remaining three races for Hamilton: it's in the bag. I never watch any of that crap, on any sports programme. Establish the start time and watch accordingly.

  17. Qualifying is live on C4 @ 22:00 tomorrow, one of those very rare days when there's something on TV on a Saturday evening that I actually want to watch. FP3 also live @ 17:00 tomorrow.

No strange colours in the sky here, but it's ridiculously dark. Much darker than it should be given the current cloud cover.
