  1. I'm sure it is, and I do have some pottery videos that I've downloaded from there in the past, but apart from that I have no use for it. I started using the internet when it was all on "dial-up", watching anything like a video was a real labour of love and I just never got into the habit. Nowadays on the rare occasion that I click on a video that someone has posted somewhere it won't play because of some sort of conflict with settings on my PC, I'm really not interested enough to try and sort that out. I see the internet as an interactive encyclopaedia rather than a TV.
  2. The time is immaterial, (it was actually 10:37 a.m. UK time), I is what I is, if that's cranky then I'm cranky, I can live with it,
  3. ........but then I don't watch Youtube, I have better ways to spend my time.

Sometimes you ought to stop digging: sheeple was the polite version.

I read up on it merely so that you couldn't say I knew nothing about it, so stop harping on about Wikipedia. I knew it was a game show, I don't like game shows, not one single one of them, if you took the trouble to read and understand what I've already said several times you would know that. if calling avid game show watchers sheeple is insulting then so be it, I can't change how I think just to make you feel happy. I find it insulting that you pay no attention to what I write and yet you do it constantly, Without some punctuation (or possibly editing/spellchecking) I can't understand your post beyond "myself", and therefore can't respond to that.

If you were to actually read, and attempt to comprehend my responses you would know, there's little point in me endlessly repeating the facts for you. So, copy and paste it is. Read, learn, and inwardly digest. (Should have been my school motto - I certainly heard it often enough).

I can make whatever judgements I like, you don't have to agree with them, but at least extend me the courtesy of understanding that I'm capable of coming to a decision that I'm happy with by reading a description. I don't need to be entertained by game shows with quiz questions. I've seen a few game shows from time to time, I can't remember any that I've liked or wanted to watch again, they are just cheap dumbed down entertainment. If I want to watch a quiz, you're correct, I'll watch University Challenge or sometimes Only Connect, Victoria Coren is far more easy on the eye than Jim Bowen. I've not tried being a homosexual but I know I don't want to: how about you?
  8. So how much snow did you get last night then? I looked out the back this morning and there was 100mm in the garden, that was my Sunday morning shopping trip to Sainsburys down the Swannee. I looked out of the front door at 11:30 and was surprised to see the road completely clear of snow, even dry in places. In the 28 years I've been at this address the road has never once been gritted, we always have to slip and slide a half mile to the main road for that. Maybe a local councillor has moved in somewhere close by, that can change such things. Did the shopping this afternoon instead.

I don't care how many millions of you sheeple watched it. I didn't - ever. I had to read about it on Wikipedia yesterday to confirm my suspicions about it before responding. (It sounded even more grim than I'd thought possible). So, I'll say it again, you're wrong, not everybody watched it (or even wanted to watch it). I can also tell you that I've never watched a programme where ant & dec are involved, and I never will cos it doesn't appeal to me, I despise all that fake enthusiasm and jollity, and just about everything else that attracts so many. People are different, you should realise that by now.

Wrong. Banal garbage, (but probably cheap to make), like so much puerile TV output.
  12. I think I'll take dodging the question as being that you didn't want to give the truthful answer. Birds eat other birds, it's a fact of life (and death) in the feathered community. It's a nonsense to just kill any bird that eats other birds. Hawks, Falcons, Harriers, Eagles, Shrikes, Corvids, Gulls, Woodpeckers,(and more) they all do it, and yet their sometimes prey is still here. Reduction in numbers of some of the prey species usually has other reasons than predation by birds.
  13. Isn't that tantamount to admitting that killing Magpies is what a "bad" neighbour would do?
  14. The acorns are germinating, some of them will be fully grown oak trees one day. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/mar/14/walkout-students-gun-violence-parkland-florida https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/mar/14/drive-them-to-a-march-buy-their-gas-whatever-it-takes-support-all-kids-marching-today
  15. .......and you've got it up for sale already!!!!
  16. Barley straw is sometimes advocated for garden ponds to prevent the growth of algae, and more specifically blanket weed. I've never heard of manure being used for anything similar, although in some natural ponds that must happen anyway.
  17. I went to the sperm bank and the nurse said ."Do you think you could masturbate in the cup?" I said, "I'm good, but I'm not sure I'm ready for a tournament yet"
  18. First Sand Martin seen in Hampshire today, (not by me), they're usually our first summer migrant to arrive. Earliest Hampshire arrival recorded since 1954 was 23rd February, Average earliest arrival since 2010 is 18th March, 2 days earlier than the average from 1971 - 2009.
  19. This was probably "freezing rain." From what I was just reading it comes down as a liquid but at some point it becomes supercooled to below freezing point but remains as a liquid until it hits the ground, whereupon it instantly turns to ice creating in effect an ice glaze over everything.
  20. I just walked down the drive to check on the state of the road, (solid packed ice), but the state of driveway was something I've not seen before. From the ground up:- 50mm of snow - covered with a layer of ice about 8mm thick - covered again by another 25mm of snow. It's weird walking on it, it really crunches very loudly as the ice breaks and leaves a massive footprint.
  21. Smoked Haddock goes in my Kedgeree, and I don't cook it in the oven, I work on getting the timing right and assemble it from the various freshly cooked ingredients. I don't ever turn the oven on just to warm something up, that's very wasteful of electrickery, (imo). I think I've documented here before how I make a bacon sandwich, the bread goes in toaster, both slices in the same hole, this gives a crunchy centre to the sandwich (the toasted side) with a refreshed outer to each slice. If you want the rest, three or four rashers of streaky cooked until crispy, two or three back rashers (depending on size), soft blue cheese spread on one slice, (St. Agur is my current choice), plenty of butter on the other, assemble the whole thing and add plenty of freshly ground black pepper, if the butter is not running down your arm while you eat it you didn't use enough.
  22. I don't want rolls; rolls would have to be crusty and therefore fresh, the only things I'm interested in doing before breakfast is drinking tea and taking a dump, not going out to buy fresh rolls.
  23. It's been like that for two or three days now, I usually use http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ for radar pics, but that also plays up now and again, (and has been today), another alternative is the European radar website, (which still includes the UK). http://www.weathercast.co.uk/radar/united-kingdom.html
  24. It's getting serious here - I've just realised that there's only enough bacon left for one more sarnie!
  25. Same here a few miles West, and looking at the radar info there's a lot more to come quite soon.
