  1. I have just read this on another site. If it is true, and it appears to be so, I, as a once a month angler to this location am totally disgusted and can not(due to financial reasons) and will not join the PACGB just to fish there. So that's one pike angler less. Well done PAC!!!! Lancaster Canal : Pike and predators - Sea fishing Forums • Sea fishing Forums
  2. OWWWWWW!!!!! the pain, that slash across the wrist is pouring blood now!!!!!! If there was EVER a crime against humanity.....
  3. To me, Country music is to slash your wrists to. HOWEVER, before you Country music fans start screaming and shouting at me, it's each to their own as I like most things from rock(so the Floyd clip above is 5.01 of utter pleasure)to classical and if ANYONE tries to tell me that a brass band is not music then the boys will be coming round in the early hours!!!!!! The great thing is, it's each to their own and what I like others will not, but, isn't that fantastic, we all have a choice!!!!!
  4. Now THAT would be the ideal bike for going along Blackpool Promenade in the height of Summer. Grock's beware!!
  5. There is no way of paying benefits back. You cannot return your WFA, you have to APPLY for a bus pass and the free TV licence. Simple answer, Give your WFA to a charity, and dont apply for a bus pass or free TV licence IF, and ONLY IF you can afford not too. I think THAT'S what IDS was getting at. Can't see many doing it though
  6. Quite right too......Looks lovely, enjoy yourself!!!!!!
  7. Price reduced to £100 for cash only.
  8. Mr KB, you are not obliged to say anything...........walk this way please
  9. I'm probably in a minority but.......good ridance, cant stand the man with his stupid giggling.
  10. I'm not 100% but I think that is on the Ribble toward Preston. Awfull photo though as this chap is obviously using sea fishing tackle and therefore would not need a licence. All the river estuaries in Lancashire get fished for flounder/dab/plaice especially this time of year. On the Wyre right upto St Michaels. Typical journalists, why let a dodgy photo get in the way of a story
  11. 25-30 years ago I'd have had a go at that, now, I'll stick to my crown green bowling. How times change
  12. OR, become a Moderator, I did on another site. Oh, the POWER!!!!!!!!
  13. Come on Chesters, get off the fence, say what you mean
  14. SIMPLY STUNNING!!!!! the day cannot get better than that!
  15. I think Alan has had several sessions with Martin and has been a guest several times on his weekly radio programme on BBC Radio Lancashire.
  16. Ive still got 3 lures for pike/Bass fishing still in their original packing from Winfield, I recently sold a Winfield multiplier in immaculate condition. Ahhhh, fond memories
  17. Martin once gave a talk at BBC Radio Lancashire in Blackburn, Me and my wife travelled over from Blackpool and we were the only 2 people there. After Martin had been talking to us for 10 mins a man walked in off the street, he only came in to keep warm. Martin did about 1 1/2 hours and was superb. He the gave me a cap which I still use today. What a star
  18. Just a comment chaps and chapesses, Mrs T is a real 'Marmite' subject. I notice strong views on BOTH sides of the arguement. We are ALL entitled to our opinion HOWEVER lets keep it civil. I could see this thread developing into a real slanging match. Let's keep it calm folks
  19. As a Police Officer during the miners strike I saw good and bad on BOTH sides. The vast majority of genuine miners were honest working class men, and very decent, but terrified of derying the union bosses, the trouble makers, those spoiling for a fight were organised agitators brought in from other places and stayed at the back of the crowd but started all the agro. The Met Police in some cases were embarrassing causing more trouble than they were worth. I also witnessed serving M.P.'s acting disgracefully and in one case criminally. There were good and bad on both sides, unfortuneatly(or fortuneatly depending on which way you look at it) the miners were run by a total egomaniac who thought he could bring a Government down. He(thank goodness) was wrong. Having done picket duty at Glasson Dock Nr Lancaster, coal came into the port from South Africa. It was cheaper to bring that coal into Glasson and distribute it than it was to bring it over from Yorkshire. Is it any wonder the pits closed I do however think the Moderators need to keep an eye on this thread as Mrs T is such an 'Marmite' subject. I would not want to see words on here getting out of hand I do notice that similar threads on other sites have been closed down due to lack of respect, as a famous old Sergeant once said "Let's be carefull out there!"
  20. I'll think you will find she had the balls to stand up to the unions that had FAR too much power at the time. Scargill thought he could bring down a Government, how wrong he was. You will probably find that even her opponents admired her way she made a decision and stuck to it. She didnt get it all right(poll tax) but the vast majority was right.
  21. Its not surviving on £7.50 a day, if it was just for food then yes you can, however, when you put in Gas, Electricity, Water and now Council Tax then no you cannot. The black economy will thrive and vulnerable people WILL be exploited
  22. Time to say 'Bye Bye' to the EU, or do what the French do, if they dont like it, they ignore it
