  6. my most memorable catch; 02/08/1964 my 5th birthday,my family all got together and bought me:- a split cane rod(can't remember the make) a creel an intrepid centrepin a knotted string keepnet(the only thing i still have) my dad ,a keen angler, sorted the floats etc. at that time we regulaly visited Barton Broads in Barton Lincs.i vividly recall that day in front of the big house sat on my new basket with my new rod in my hand. i caught a roach of about 5-6ozs and a 3oz perch (i've got the photo of that somewhere)proud as punch i was. I've had 100lbs bags of Bream from Martham Boat Yard and a 78lb net of Tench at Fish Pond Farm but none are so fondly remembered as that day

  10. not a bird but on the same lines. i used to own a caravan at Nettleton park in Lincolnshire, we stayed there for the whole eight months that it was open so out of the main holiday season it was very quiet, most of the time there would be no one else there so the wildlife would come out to play. one afternoon i was sat fishing in my favorite corner when a flash of colour caught my eye,i looked round to see a Stoat doing somersaults, spins & jumps around a stalk of grass, it did this for about 10 mins 'till something spooked it (probably me laughing). i think there's a name for this but i'm not sure. turned a dreary day into a bright one tho'
