  1. Ditto. Many thank's Steve, peggy and everyone for everything .
  2. The trailers look quite good. Chris how would you compare it to catching the impossible, which would you prefer ?
  3. Wev'e got a small trailer on Steve's Land rover other wise it would have been touch and go getting everything in the motor .
  4. Blimey, I've just got my bits together and there's that much stuff it looks like I've had a major fall out with the wife and I'm throwin her out....
  5. Why not just start your own thread and post the pic's of your reel, I'm sure there are several forum members who would like to see it out of curiosity sake ?
  6. Now come on Elton that's just to easy, you must know by now the EA are just like sea cucumbers....eat n' shite but nowt else...no brain you see
  7. Wasn't that the name of a biker gang in a Clint Eastwood film ? Black beauty would have been ok but it was a horse.....wasn't it ?
  8. Mmm.....something sensible like Carp crushers...Carp crusaders...Carp crunchers... pike punchers or munchers
  9. I'm not sure how the full cork handles are fitted on the normarks, whether the blanks go all the way through the cork like many other rods or not. I do know a friend who's rod (team normark titan 2000)became loose and he was able to pull his bottom section straight out of the fuji reel seat and to sort it it was a case of just glueing it back in place. I have two team normark microlites and if I unscrew the duplon on the fuji seat and push it up the blank you can clearly see the glue where the blank has been pushed into the reel seat and glued. I'm no rod builder and have no experience of replacing handles but on the team normarks the blank deffo only goes into the handle a few inches, maybe the older ones with the full cork handles are different, you'll have to inspect it.
  10. What a transformation, great job Chris !
  11. On the normark rods i've seen the blank doesn't go all through the cork but the blank is pushed into it and glued. So it's a case of freeing the blank from the cork and pulling the blank out of it. Thats the way the rods fitted with the fuji seats are put together. It will save taking off any eyes etc.
  12. Ok mant01 sorry for jumping to the wrong conclusion. The thing is, livebaiting is the only method that will work on some waters. You could cast lures till your arm drops off and sit behing a dead bait for weeks without any luck but as soon as you put on a live bait your in buisness. I very seldom live bait myself but to say ban it would be a crime against the sport of angling IMO at any rate.
  13. Oh right, so you would ban Poles also ? What the hell's wrong with using a pole ? It's an attitude like that which will see the end of angling for pleasure.
  14. Steve, do you know if he's sticking to one bait or has he been catching on different baits ?
  15. Blimey.....tell him to save some for us Steve Can I change swims to his for the fish in
  16. Narrh, that old bag was still ok, all it needed was sewing up here and there and fumigating as I think it may have contained several unknown strains of superbug I'm sorry Brian, all those fancy handmade floats etc...your in denial....your going into a tackletart
  17. Yeah I know Brian but it's nice to have a few and have a choice of which to use. Some days I like to use one reel then on another day I like to have a change and use a different one, much the same as with rods. I like to use them for fishing but I like to look at them like you would ornaments also, so for me they serve two purposes Obviously if you just want a pure workhorse then the okumas are reasnably priced and do the job very well indeed so no need for more than one pin.....but Brian...why have you now got two pins, and one of them has cost you a pretty penny n'all Also why go buying fancy match rods when you could have made do with your old ones....your slipping on the slope I'm afraid ...fancy rucksacks n'all...a tackletart is sprouting
  18. I saw two spare spools, brand new and boxed on ebay a while back and made the seller an offer of £50 for the pair which they agreed to ! I finnished up giving one to a friend and kept one for myself. To be honest I've never got round to using it yet and i know my friend hasn't . I must addmitt I don't find the purist heavy at all....Chris don't be going Limp wristed on us now matey !!!
  19. Nudge, nudge...wink, wink...say no more ... If I was to go on pure usability and not presteige and looks then I would have to go for the okuma sheffield. I'd say the one Brian has which is made from titanium alloy must be a corker having the usability of the sheffield but also being so very light.
  20. That's easy....the shimano !
  21. Snap !!...... I'll second that Steve...... many thank's ! I really do hope the weather turns for the better, it's bloody freezin up here in Lancashire. I was gonna go out for a sesh hunting the tench last night but it went very cold and the thought of numb feet and fingers put me right off so I comforted myself with cups of tea, fought with the dogs for a tiny spot on the couch and watched the goggle box instead . At least the dogs kept me warm...there was no room for the Mrs the dogs wouldn't let her on
  22. Hand on heart...yeah I am but I think that's all i'll be... tempted that is
  23. I've already got two bloody Lythes on order which is pushing things to the limit in our house
