  1. Can't believe some of the things i've read on this thread..... Ali, you have PM.
  2. David Overy RIP. Inspirational angler & writer.
  3. Forgot to mention earlier, my beautiful mixed race children all fish from time to time. My six year old girl was only asking the other day "Is it warm enough for night fishing yet Daddy?"
  4. Dominoes West Indian style must be experienced, great fun. My Jamaican father in law was all set to come fishing with me but completely lost interest when he found out we wouldn't be eating the catch. Seen a few black or mixed race anglers over the years but admittedly not many. A major reason could be traditionally, immigrant communities move into urban areas & as others have said there is little 'tradition' of fishing purely for sport.
  5. Has anyone considered just how difficult it would be to net a boat yard /wet shed - (with all the obstructions), covertly, in the dead of night (i.e. dark), on a cold winter's night?? Think about it....... I was discussing this with a friend who works in the fishery stocking/netting business the other day. He finds it laughable, almost impossible & he nets fish for a living.
  6. I got p!ssed with the England cricket team, after they'd just beaten the aussies in the 1992 world cup, does that count? I work with Wendy Lythgow (she's great) how about that
  7. The one & only Muhammed Ali. Inspirational for what he achieved inside the ring and what he stood for outside it.
  8. What a refreshing read this thread is another forum i frequent has its own resident BNP spokesman I'll be off to wind him up some more in a little while.

  13. I've lived in the Gipping valley all my life, had a walk along on sunday & its the lowest i've EVER seen it.
  14. Still here fellas, trying not to lower the tone too much! Hey Peter, Danny Haynes - the 'new hand of god' or what ??
  15. I never tire of Pike fishing because there are so many contrasting methods to catch them, different waters, different days, different methods. My favourite is whatever i caught my last fish on, so at the moment its lure fishing with a six foot rod & an ambassadeur
  16. Apparently it will be back up tomorrow, until then you'll have to put up with a few refugees here, ain't that right BBB?
  17. Its a conspiracy between the government & the BBC i tell ya This place is full of refugee's
  18. Sideways for me 95% of the time. Not always good when sharing a boat though!

  20. That's the way Fudge, keep the monk of your trail
  21. Never met Fudgey but i know he's one of the most dedicated Pike anglers around. Make no mistake, this guy works hard at his fishing and if anyone ever 'deserves' to catch a monster, then he does!
  22. True. Most of the time i'm confident with deads, however there are days when it has to be a Live!
  23. Its full till mid december mate I'll give you a shout
  24. True, mid table mediocrity is hard to get used to but then we don't have your experience on that one (I couldn't resist but i'm going to stop now, before we ruin an interesting thread )
