  1. Latest number is approximately 480,000,000 animals It has been mentioned on the news and the news site, but the media is mostly about the affects on humans.
  2. Merry Christmas to you all
  3. As requested, at the end of January when we leave the EU, I'll close this thread.
  4. Robert Walker Jr, actor most famous for playing Charlie X in the original Star Trek series. Aged 79.
  5. Yes I do, though I never watched it then or now. Not into soap operas.
  6. Watched the State Opening of Parliament earlier today, and have to say that Corbyn showed great decorum as a party leader in defeat. NOT! Refusing to look at or talk to Boris as they both walked side-by-side into the House of Lords, SCOWLING at the Queen as she made her speech setting out her Governments plans, and then having other members of the Commons jeer him as he likened the State Opening to a pantomime. It's well known that he is a republican, but thankfully the vast majority of the people in the UK are Royalists. Corbyn, you've just given us all another good reason why you don't deserve to be Prime Minister. Now stop hanging on as leader, p!ss off and let someone we can respect take over, you supercilious little tawt. From me, a Labour supporter
  7. Sheila Mercier, best known for playing Annie Sugden in Emmerdale, aged 100. Was also the sister of Brian Rix. Nicky Henson, actor aged 74. Probably best known in an episode of Fawlty Towers when he smuggled a dishy blonde into his room.
  8. Danny Aiello, best known for his roles in the movies Do The Right Thing and The Godfather Part II, aged 86.
  9. As a long-time Labour supporter, I voted Conservative and I'm GLAD they got in and gave Corbyn a bloody nose. And despite what a lot of politicals have been saying, the result was not all about Brexit either, plenty of other people I know (who would also have normally voted for Labour) chose to vote against Corbyn too. Now hopefully that waste of skin will step down early and we'll get someone we can respect running the party.
  10. I agree with John, the site seems a bit faster now it's been upgraded.
  11. It would be good to see the old brigade back and posting again, I've got a suspicion that some are still here but lurking. There's no real reason why the site can't be as active as it once was though. Angling is still as popular as ever and forums like this are the best places to chat and exchange news and views. All we need is the numbers.
  12. Another member (I'll not say who, if he wants his name known I'll let him post ) was worried about Newt too and asked me in PM if I'd heard anything. After some considerable detective work he tracked down one of Newts' sons who told him what was happening. Seems like it's something Newt does on occasions.
  13. Newt is certainly still in the land of the living, but apparently he's decided to off on his own for a while.
  14. After the recent face-to-face between Johnson and Corbyn, both were found to be 'overgenerous' with the facts. I don't believe anything said in a party political broadcast, it's all just political bullshine trying to convince those on the fence to vote for one or the other
  15. I've been a Labour supporter most of my life but once again I'll not be voting for the local Labour candidate, not whilst Corbyn is running the party
  16. Terry O'Neill, iconic photographer. Aged 81. When I was a semi-pro waaaay back, he was one of the photographers who inspired my own work.
  17. My trees are back! Needs updating though, caught a few more specimens since the last time I added to it.
  18. I hope the sigs are still okay, it took me years to catch all those trees!
  19. An old and knackered tortoise. Nigel Farage
  20. I enjoyed the break, but good to be back and I'm loving the new look
  21. Loved it on the news when the guy got pulled off the roof of the train by the passengers. Protesting about something doesn't mean you have the right to inconvenience hundreds or even thousands of normal people who are just going about their business. Personally, I hope there are more incidents like this, maybe they'll stop being so bloody arrogant in future.
  22. Stephen Moore, probably best known as the voice of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy's Marvin the Paranoid Android in the original radio and TV series, aged 81.
  23. Robert Forster, actor, aged 78.
