What I am talking about is the duck weed and that horrible stuff like a blanket of cotton wool i know that we need weed .On my local drain last week it was just like a giant green carpet probaly more a algae problem than a weed one look what happen at the Old Bedford River last month. This year I thought for a change to fish the River Severn I found a place where I could fish on a day ticket own by a rather large tackle company I though great £3 a day to fish so I purchased my ticket but the people in charge could,nt believe that I wanted to actual fish the river because there are two carp lakes on the complex whilst chatting to fellows that run the place the subject of pike came in their reply was if you catch any pike just throw them up the bank. I was rather gobsmacked hence my answer was if I catch any barbel or chub do I throw them up the bank aswell ,then silence. Anyway to get to the river we had to walk around these carp well manicured and litter free lakes when reaching to river I could,nt believe the amount of rubbish and litter in the pegs .All I can see is that the river is 2nd rate compared to their precious carp puddles is it some thing to do that they charge more to fish these.If you want to name of the company just email me.
