  1. watched it the morning i got it, as bored after work! i liked it,i always have liked wtaching wilson,he does know how to stalk in summer, fishes some lovely swims on various rivers and catches some lovely chub. i thought it was one of the better freebies with the comics!
  2. nasty.... had the same problem up in lea valley mate,a friend came acroos some polish guys, looked a bit out of place thought they might be up to no good so he phoned lea valey who have private security, these guys are also dog handlers and have dogs with them. and many are ex police or army. anyway he bumped into one the other day and asked if they had caught up with the guys he reported, they did, only the claimed not to speak english,so he got another handler down, turned out the guys polish!so there excuse just went pop! turns out they too were setting night lines getting on the vodka then passing out in theer car.they got a caution and if caught again get charged for that and the second offence. finally they are doing something about it,apparently they can nick'em and take em to the police station and get an interpreter.if they fail to co-operate. 3. i think its free isnt it?i have a mag with a small feature in it on the roding i'll have a look later(going fishing in a mo) see what i can dig up for you.
  4. londons rumbling right now, rained a bit too, tommrrow should be cooler temp wise, hopefully the fish will be on the move and feeding!
  5. corr that is a snake! bet that went a bit peter, how old do you think that eel was then, really 40?
  6. get in there! its teh best way mate 2ft is ok just go in in shorts nad some trainers you can kick off uf you have to(trainers are good you never know whats on the bottom sharp objects etc. i would mate,i'd wade out clear some weed bait up and sit and watch it,soon as i know they are feeding on it,id either wade out and stalk them,or i would try getting a static bait on the bottom in the clear spot, hit and hold mate use braid you should be alright a mono leader maybe a good idea tho stop tearing there mouth, when you hook one as the braid wil not stretch.
  7. lol, confidence, small hands are better, less to get in the way infront of the fish,i always get the taker to tell me if my fingers are in the way,i try to hold them as securley as possible, one hand under the head,or gill covers one behind where the wrist of the tail starts thumb on the fishes bac, index under the tail, sometimes index in front of the fish ie so the taker can see it will help with lively fish. hope that helps hard to explain, need a pic really. 8. get ya bait on there, how deep is it? if you bait it up well,i rekon you should get there attention after all they are carp!they like to eat=pigs with fins!
  9. water is decieving mate, bet you had a shock when the magic number came up! i never measured my biggest,i should really, funny thing is i do carry a tape measure!
  10. BREAM! at least not until they get to double figures, then they look like battleships! never floated my boat bream, never been into carp either, like stalking or surface fishng thats about it, dont do buzzers n boilies, bores me.... buzzers and drop offs now were talking! 11. go on the chevin hunters! well done,i told ya the 4's will soon be 5's! lovely unmarked fish both of them. got me going now.... i feel like stalking tonite!like stalking tonite! just think that 5 could make 6 in winter.
  12. heres a diagram i found, just make sure the link i sweak and youll land the carp id use braid as well, hit and hold, take step back as you strike puts them of balance. steves idea is a good'un prebait it or get them chasing feed downstream,or another one for ya, wade out(if you can) and discreetly clear yourself a channel to put a bait.it works wonders, can even bait up while your there just be very careful, go with a mate and tie a rope around ya when you go in,wierpools can be very dangerous places if you not sure how deep it is,DONT GO IN. 13. howabout a beachcaster rig, without a float,if you tie the lead link on with weak mono it wil go before the mainline or hooklength thus allowing you to get the fish through the weed. how deep is it can you not wade close to it?
  14. like it,good tatic, looking to leave em till winter but all this stalking talk makes me wanna do a morning/evening after them.
  15. me too id say,mid double.i'll be honest, i dont like the black gloves.no need really.
  16. hehe sounds like you guys are having some fun with the carp on the fly, walthamstow ressies has a fly water, ther are some very big carp in amongst the trout,i have heard of untold fly anglers being smahsed up by 30+ fish!they obviously dont intentionally hook/target these fish.i think the biggest landed is 28lb,i know a good few smaller 20's and doubles get landed tho.doesnt matt hayes hold the unofficial record, ofr a fly caught carp,i think hes had a 30?horseshoe lake?
  17. i dont think it is,there are a few in there, i see a nice double druising mid water last year further downstream, tail and dorsal looks tooo black, without sounding big headed i have watched barbel among chub a lot,i rekon the amount of time i ws there a would have spotted it,plus if its is a barbel its a small one id expect it to be accompained by at least another one. check out the chub heading away from me,top of the pic look how broad it is! 20. some pics for ya guys n girls, some nice chub on the lea,in a no fishing area!the cheeky chevins.
  21. hhhmmmm chevin boilies, dt baits m-techs are good(not used em myself) trigga is god!used it to good effect, trigga and trigga ice. source by dynamite has a good reputation as a good barbel and chub bait. i have gone off boilies a bit, looking at paste(summit tells me its better, softer etc) as a (john bakers) more and more, that or fish baits and lures.bread also tho, never forget humble bread. keep them hairs short [ 20. 22. predators!! mainly pike and chub!
  23. i'm a pred head, some or infact most fisherys dont alllow any baitfishing for pike before october the 1st. some do allow the use of lures in the spring/summer,some do have rules on sizes of lures. it is also a personal matter.i rarely bait fish after april,if i do its done on a cool overcast day, early morning best before it gets too warm. pike take baits deeply in the higher water temps, very quickly.this means they end up with hooks far back of the throat stomach, unhooking wich can be messy, and is unfair and not good for the pike. stick with lures in summer and baits in winter learn as much as you can about esox and all will be well.
