  2. is it true that a few years ago they had a ban on catching cod at their breeding time and although there was no quota for cod they could still land cod roe, so they targeted spawning cod, cut the roes out and landed them but dumped the carcasses over the side?? or is this an urban myth like global warming??
  3. in florida you can lose your car license for being drunk in charge of a boat. plus you can't drink alcohol on a boat as drinking in public is banned too. if you take a bottle of beer on the beach you get fined twice, for drinking in public and taking glass onto the beach.

  13. A wedding occurred just outside Cavan in Ireland. To keep tradition going, everyone gets extremely drunk and the bride's and groom's families have a storming row and begin wrecking the reception room and generally kicking the **** out of each other. The police get called in to break up the fight. The following week, all members of both families appear in court. The fight continues in the courtroom until the judge finally brings calm with the use of his gavel, shouting, "Silence in court!" The courtroom goes silent and Paddy, the best man, stands up and says, "Judge, I was the best man at the wedding and I think I should explain what happened." The judge agrees and asks Paddy to take the stand. Paddy begins his explanation by telling the court that it is traditional in a Cavan wedding that the best man gets the first dance with the bride. The judge says, "OK." "Well," said Paddy, "after I had finished the first dance, the music kept going, so I continued dancing to the second song, and after that the music kept going and I was dancing to the third song, when all of a sudden the groom leapt over the table, ran towards us and gave the bride an unmerciful kick right in the fanny" Shocked, the judge instantly responded, "God, that must have hurt!" "Hurt?" Paddy replies. "He broke three of my fingers!"

  18. a mate of mine has a 175 on order from warrior, they quoted him 8 weeks, it's now coming up for 12 weeks and still no sign of it. he gets every excuse under the sun about not delivering, even gets told it will be there next day and he takes a day off work and it doesn't arrive then they dink his calls for another week. poor show for almost 20K, typical of a company with a captive audience he wished he's bought a second hand 175 or a raider 18 cuddy.
  19. ok, i'll try that muck, you never know....
  20. thanks for the quick replies.... i don't think the car had a proper clean in the couple of years the dude had it, the stuff is welded onto the rubber on the side windows and in all the wee hard to get to places. where can i get that ozcleen stuff peter??
  21. hi, anyone know the best stuff for getting the dry green mossy/algae stuff of cars that have been parked under trees. i've just bought a new (to me) landcruiser and the person i bought it off kept it parked under trees and bushes in the car park at his work most the time and there is a lot of dried green muck in the nooks and crannies on it. does anyone know the best cleaning agent for this job, or do i have to get in with T-cut on a cotton bud?? thanks in advance Les
  22. looks like the best bait at portobello beach for the flatties will be sweetcorn for a while
  23. them cod must be pretty fresh in, during the summer up here when i get red cod of any size they go straight back because it's a p to a £ they have more worms than a geordie on a scottish beach to tell you the truth glenn I don't know where to get whites anymore, not that i dig them these days, but some guys i know are still digging the old marks and fighting the geordies for a patch to dig and getting 20 worms for a helluva lot more effort than i used to get 300 in a tide back in the day, the "new" marks are so secret that diabolis won't tell me where he's getting his, and i don't dig lugworm now, never mind whites
  24. glenn, "5 fish for 16lb" not a bad evening, but with them mostly being red kelp cod you probably have about 10lb of worms and 6lb of fish were you using scottish whites??
