  1. I don't have a problem with the canoeists or any other boat owners / users as long as they are considerate to others on the river and most are in my experience, even the waterskiers on the Trent are considerate in the main. Surely we can all get on together Alan.
  2. Agreed and Chico is a first class guy to do business with Send him a pm, you will NOT be disappointed with these gloves Alan.
  3. Welcome to AN, where have you been? Send Kev an email just to make sure Alan.

  7. I could not believe my eyes, I really wanted to stop the video when he dragged the pike over the pebbles but I made myself watch it till the end and it just got worse! sadly or should that be fortunately I no longer visit Scotland as I dread to think what charges I would face if I saw those morons doing that while I was fishing Thankfully when I have witnessed Scots fishing around me on the various lochs that I have fished over the years I can say that they have always treated their catch with the utmost respect so these ***** are hopefully in the minority I just hope that someone on here knows them and gives them exactly what they deserve, just make sure there are no witnesses Alan.
  8. Same here, the manager says something that a prima donna takes offence at and all the players capable of tieing their own laces decide to drop him in it by not playing to their full ability so he gets the boot it's all wrong to me! But it just sums this country up full stop! Alan.
  9. I have to agree with Chesters, celebrity seems to mean a totally different thing to me than most of people that I know! Most of the so called celebs in the press are very shallow people and some of the footballers these days seem to be paid thousands if they can tie their own laces So called celebs seem to write their life story before their 30th birthday, says it all really I see programmes on tv that are supposedly full of celebs and I am lucky if I recognize any of them Alan.
  10. Hi Stoff, Take a look here mate, quite a few carp rods within your budget. http://www.tacklebargain.com/ If you don't want to spend more than £30 take a look at the Abu range here, http://www.mullarkeys.co.uk/fishing/Fishin...e-fishing-rods/ Alan.
  11. Freshly baked bread! I love a slice of warm bread and butter straight from the bread machine. Alan.
  12. Hi Stoff, welcome to AN Are you wanting a feeder style rod ie quiver tip or are you intending to fish with the rod pointing straight out and using some sort of bite indicator? Where abouts are you based ? Alan.
  13. Try here, http://www.knoppix.org/ Alan.
  14. Not sure why jacks don't have the leeches but it could be as you say that they are more active than the larger pike which tend to get leeches in winter due to lying up on the bottom. must learn to type quicker!!!! lol Alan.
  15. I have been a member of a angling book club although it was a few years ago and I can't remember the name I used to get books sent to me which I did not order or want and then I would return them and I did not get the postage back so after a couple of months of this and many many phone calls again at my expense I wrote them a letter stating that if they sent any more books that I did not order I would not return them and they would have to organize collection, I had several books delivered and a few nasty letters asking for payment and I was threatened with court action but they never took it any further which was a shame!!!! I did buy the books which I had agreed to and there were some bargains but I had a lot of hassle and I would never join another book club I did finish up with quite a collection of books though, it was just a pity that most of them were of no interest to me Alan.
  16. I am sure that Sycamore lakes have a close season although others such as Swan lake and the lakes at Hogsthorpe do / did open all year. Look here, http://www.waterscape.com/fisheries_search...=Find+fisheries All the fisheries have contact numbers so you can check before travelling Alan.
  17. Hi, You might find the info that you are looking for on here, http://www.transportoffice.gov.uk/crt/gene...legislation.htm Alan.
  18. I have not fished sycamore lakes myself although a couple of lads at work have and they have always done well. Skegness is probably one of the best places for a fisherman to visit for a holiday withhis or her family as there are loads of waters very close to Skegness and just about all of them fish well although they do get very busy in the holiday season as I am sure you can appreciate? and the rest of the family will find plenty to entertain themselves too so you are left to enjoy the superb fishing Alan.
  19. I have got all risks insurance with the Royal London as an extension to my contents insurance and I have had this for more than 20 years and I have never had a problem when claiming, ie car was broken into, garage was broken into - always paid out in full and the policy is far cheaper than the ones I have seen in fishing mags etc. Alan.
  20. I'm not from your part of the world but try here mate, http://www.waterscape.com/fishing Just enter your post code and the distance that you wish to travel Alan.
  21. I still use a 1.5lb t/c rod on small waters when I get the chance! which are snag free and it's very useful on rivers too when trotting for chub etc, so much nicer to play fish on rather than a poker with no feel. Alan.
  22. Glad to see you got you did the things in the right order Alan.
