  1. What. You bl00dy idiot ! I almost soiled my armer I was so scared.
  2. Nah, it's a Kangeroo. What worries me is the 17 year old "marksman" with orders to shoot to kill.
  3. Have a look here http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/forums/index.p...hl=india+update PM me with any specific queries. I also have contact details for a charter boat working out of a port just to the south of Panjim if you want them.
  4. No sooner do I post this than I turn to the BBC site and find this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4880022.stm
  5. I have the same problem. The number of companies and service providers that refuse point blank to rewrite all of there products for my BBC micro and supply them on 7" floppies is a damed disgrace !!!! Surely, you knew that loosing all of the compatability that PC users take for granted was the trade off you were taking when you brought an Apple in the same way that you must have known that upgrading of an existing machine instead of wholesale replacement every three years wasn't for you.. Come to think of it, exactly why would any right minded person buy a Macc ?
  6. I finally got through this morning. They are still trading but have apparently been having "Major problems" with e-mail. If anyone has a problem with their orders, use the phone and ring during normal office hours.
  7. The game nets are all a bit small but that's the kind of thing I'm after. Newt's suggestion is very similar to the one that I took to India on the last trip (only with better mesh) and I supose I might well end up with something similar next time arround. Not the easiest thing to carry though and easy to get bent buy baggage handlers.
  8. Yep, white stuff was falling from the sky in Birmingham this afternoon ! That's not suposed to happen. I'm a tropical species and I'm sure I felt my leaves wilting when I went out in it.
  9. A landing net is as useful abroad as it is in the UK and in the past, I've taken sea style nets travelling with me on my travels and simply left them there when I move on. As my next trip is likely to cover several different locations, it'd be useful to have a net that I can readily fold up and take with me to the next destination. Ideally, it'll be about 80cn diameter and have a lure resistant mesh and fold up to fit in a tube of some description. Carp nets arn't really an option because the mesh makes then to hard to handle in any sort of swell or current. Any suggestions
  10. I've e-mailed Harris Sportsmail four times without a reply and every time I try to ring them, the phone just rings out. There isn't even an answerphone or recorded message. Are they still trading or has customer service just taken a nosedive since the business was sold ?

    Fake Shimano's

Oops, wrong forum. This should have gone on the Coarse board.
  12. Just a quick note to make people aware that whilst in India, we came accross what appeared to be fake Shimano reels on sale. They had a Shimano Logo on the reel but were sold with no spare spool and on looking at the parts diagram, thee was no mention of it being a Shimano product. I just thought I'd mention it because once they're out in the global market place, it wont be long before they start showing up for sale on the net.
  13. The link shows the price as £99.95. Are you offering a £9.95 discount to AN members ?
  14. Yeh, well, so are whippet racing, pigeon keeping and rambling. On the other hand, Bhangra dancing is far too young and Asian and there are far to many elderly black guys playing dominoes. When will these idiots wake up and realise that we don't live in a homogenous scociety.
  15. Ah, but I do know someone in the US who can post it on to be. Total cost should be about £95.
  16. I have my eye here: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...requestid=25272 and I'm specifically looking at the TF10904P. Cabelas charge 40% to post to the UK though and you might get hit for tax and handleing charges as well. All that gets a bit steep but can be avoided it you know someone in the US that you can have it delivered to and who is prepared to repackage it and send it on.
  17. I have a 2 piece 9 weight outfit that I use for pike fishing in the summer and am thinking about buying a 10 weight 4 piece rod for saltwater and mahseer fishing when I go travelling. If I use my existing 9 weight lines, how will this affect the rod's ability to turn the flies over and will underloading the rod make it more difficult for a relative novice at fluff chucking ? If it's going to be hard work, any recomendations for cheap #10 lines ?
  18. Helium is notorious for leaking out of containers because the gas simply sqeezes through the gaps between the molecules of whatever you store it in. If the system is of good quality, it will have a valve to allow you to top up the Helium syly - the best ones are compatable with the tanks ued at McDonalds so that you can refil for free.
  19. He sounds about as popular as Leicesters finest - Mark Morrison.
  20. I cheat ! I simply e-mail them to myself and opt to shrink them when prompted to do so. I do have software that'll do it but I cant be bothered to learn how 'cause that would be a waste of good drinking or fishing time.
  21. OMG ! I must have been **** that night........ Newt. I think that was one of Ken Davidson's underwater shots. Sadly, it's not one of mine - although I might have ended up with her sister one night. Sam. You forgot WET. And this country is only god forsaken in relative terms. India has way more gods that we do so there's always going to be one or two looking out for a bit of decent weather. BTW, Still laughing about the "Hanuman-o-gram".
  22. The sedona was designed as a budget reel and after a little use, it shows. I'd be inclined to go with the Okuma. I have to say that I'm rapidly loosing faith in Shimano though. I've now had two Stradics (a 1000 and an 8000) and a 1000 size sustain that have needed servicing after just one season. I think my next batch of high end spinning reels will be from another manufacturer.
  23. I just reduce the size of the image and then upload it directly to the site but I'm sure Newts method works perfectly well with him being the techie wizard and all that. Scott e-mailed me the other day. I think he said he was flying out tomorrow. I suspect he's going to get his string well and truely pulled in the Andermans......
  24. Hey, You better get posting some of the pics with you mugging behind a dirty great fish them mate. Seriously though, you obviously managed to make it back to Mumbai from Agra and Varanassi in time for your flight. Bet it was a rush though.
