  1. If your that desperate to watch the tele why not stay at home instead. Scott.
  2. The fish hunter is I think made by Sevylor if its not then their boats are very very similar. Try searching for Sevylor in the UK and you will find plenty of dealers, they are cheaper but they are mostly in yellow. I have used a Sevy many times for fishing, they are very safe, they are a lot thicker than the kids type bopats you sea at beaches etc and they have at least 3 chambers (any 1 of which will keep you afloat). Scott.
  3. A plain muddy brown coloured suit would be ideal for most comercial fisheries. Scott.
  4. Its nice to see that my 50mb of free webspace with my BT account is being reduced to 15mb at no extra cost to me, thats nice of them, NOT. Scott.
  5. Tinca, the day it becomes unacceptable to stick hooks in fish to use them as bait, it then becomes unacceptavble to stick hooks in fish. Scott.
  6. I normally fish for them all year round, before anyone complains, I fish in the Lake district (big wild waters) and if im really lucky I can get out fishing about once a month, if I didnt fish in the summer that would mean I did about 6 sessions a year. Scott.
  7. Hi Nick, some brief info can be found here. I have a few friends that fish Lomond on a regular basis, the Piking is a bit slow at the moment but there is some excellent Roach fishing to be had. Many PAAS members fish there, especially the Glasgow branch try their website here Scott.
  8. Thanks Newt, I have ordered stuff from Janns before that how I found that the raw material was available, (its called 'Plastisol' but that could be a trade name)I get their catalogue sent to me every year. I would like to perhaps find a supplier nearer to home if possible. Scott.
  9. Does anyone know where I could buy the rubber to make my own lures. I'm not sure what it is or even if it is a rubber but the stuff that these worms/bulldawgs etc are made from. I would really like to find a UK supplier anyone any ideas? Scott.
  10. There are loads of sites that sell fishnets for women. Scott.

    Try instaling IE 6.0 Scott.
  13. It wasnt the catfish in the picture, thats a tropical fish. Its a Red Tail Catfish (Phractocephalus hemiliopterus) unless i'm very much mistaken. If that was it then it must have been a very small dog as they only grow to around 4ft in length. Scott.
  14. Perhaps I was a bit harsh there with you but seeing as you appologised, i'll try and help. The Pike is a very fragile fish, its also fairly stupid, its not unknown for huge fish to be caught by complete novices, and often die shortly after capture. The best advice is to learn fish handling basics with smaller fish and get used to handling fish before starting Piking, but if you are really keen then try and get someone with Piking experience to go with you. Ask here to start with, you might live near to someone that may be willing to fish with you and help you. Also try and learn something about the Pike before you go again, you can click on my signature link and visit the PAAS website or try a search, there are plenty of Pike websites that have good information. Scott.
  15. 3m pixels will produce a good quality A4 pic when printed out. The problems start when you start cropping the pics, if you cut out half the pic then you are then trying to print 1.5m pixels at A4 ok but not top quality. Its a very personal choice but what I did was work out what features I wanted the most, for me a good zoom was important. I then went for the best zoom in my price range, ended up with a Fuji S304 3m pixels great zoom, very happy with it. Scott.
  16. Either learn the basics first before trying for our most fragile fish, or go with n experienced Pike angler. Scott.
  17. Way to go Parsons, and your 7th posts as well. Lets hope you can use your knowledge here to win more friends. Scott.

  19. There were some swivels made a few years ago for the beach angler that had a diamond at one end and a circle at the other, the thinking was that your hooklength was tied to the diamond end to create a weak link, dont know if you can still get them or not. Scott.
  20. Thanks, she seems to have a better understanding now. Scott.
  21. Any ideas? Anyone. Scott.
  22. Can anyone explain to me (step daughters homework) how copyright works, with the emphasis on the fishing world. How can for example every reel company make a baitrunners type system, and its ok but they cant call it a baitrunner? Is that to do more with patent or trademarks? Is it ok to blantantly copy another item (thats not patented) providing you dont use the name and/or try to pass it off as the real thing? Another would be ifs ok to sell a bread bun containing a beefburger, lettuce, tomato etc thats no problem, but is you were to call it a big mac, lawyers would be banging on your door. So what can or cant you copy, or can you do what you want as long as you dont use anyones patent or trademark. This started off with a simple homework question that got more involved as we talked about it, my girfriend works for a major high street shoe shop that has been told to stop selling a shoe (very similar to Burberry) and I gave her examples of how copying other people gear was normal in the fishing world, now she wants to know why you cant sell a shoe thats similar but you can sell an identical item of tackle, confusing but can anyone explain because its lost me. Scott.
