  1. The pupils at school started doing a bit about these creatures in an Ecology module that they have just started. I looked at the worksheet and asked the KS3 co-ordinator ( who had copied the sheets ) if they were made up or true. He told me that they were true so I just looked up some information about these things. They have worked their way over several years??? from Russia to Norway. Some experts reckon they will move North from there, but others are saying that they could move further south and reach Portugal. Depending on who you believe, they grow to a metre or so diameter and to a weight of about 10 kilos. Look pretty impressive.
  2. Dave, I read and re read my post and thought what the bl**dy hell is it. Then it dawned on me. It was late for me and I was wanting to get back in me cave. Anyway, I got there in the end. . If anyone thinks I am ignoring them from this moment on, I am just gonna get in me car and shoot to Norfolk for several days to stay with my sister so adios amigos. . P.s All the best Emz.
  3. Best wishes to NickInTheNorth and Nick who I think share birthdays today. Hope you both enjoyed your day. Doh! Just seen the Birthday wishes in another thread.
  4. OK, here's the official word from Kia's Press & PR Director: "I am afraid it was as I thought, the music was specifically written for the ad and is not currently available in recorded form or for download..." Just got this from some site. I had been trying to find who it was as it sounds right up my street. Got this from www.tvadmusic.co.uk
  5. Hi Ollie, I reckon the H= 12 on BS could be Hurricane on the Beaufort Scale,
  6. Emz, it may sound daunting but my dad has had a few ECG's and the treadmill test etc for heart type problems and it is just so run of the mill nowadays; nothing to worry about. ( easier said than done eh ) Sure you will be fine and that your mind will be put at rest.
  7. Hi Stu, have heard of codling from about two to four pounds mainly, which is pretty representative of the rest of the Suffolk coast at the moment. Even reports of the odd sizeable bass and sole coming out on some Suffolk beaches. Should fish well this weekend hopefully as North Suffolk has been fishing quite well the last few days after the winds and also big tides at present. Hope it is still fishing well as we are off to Shingle Street tomorrow. Anyway good luck.................
  8. Apparently she lives at Wickford, Essex which is about seven or eight miles up the road. For that reason alone, I would give her my utmost support.
  9. One way ticket to hell and back.--The Darkness.....................
  10. Don't know about a song. This is the card I would buy though.
  11. Don't know if anyone would be interested, but just listed several items on Ebay for a friend. Items include Bronica cameras and various accessories. Also stuck a Nikon f80 on there and found it had sold by the time I had finished listing all the other stuff! If anyone would like to see it, my Ebay usename is ash1a. Have not got time at the moment to sort a link.?
  12. Happy Birthday Skippy. I think you should take the day off. Go and spend some serious money and spoil yourself.
  13. Some people in cars when I am on my motorbike. There I am sitting right up their ar*e* waiting to fly past and they seem to pull over towards the centre line. Or is it my imagination? Good job I can't see what they are saying about me when I scream past .
  14. Hi Bob, I didn't realise we had met. Anyways, been to Norwich once or twice but wouldn't say that I know it. Lots more to see. Quite looking forward to it now. Cheers.
  15. Thanks Skippy, my heart missed a beat when I saw that first bit about a problem with the place. Anyway thanks for the information. It is really appreciated. And thanks a lot for taking the trouble with the leaflets. Have lived in my house in Essex for thirty five years so this is all a bit weird. I must say though that the people that live around Felbrigg where my sister lives seem pretty friendly. All I gotta do now when I get up there is find a job. Is there a McDonalds local. .............Chooseday....yeah I think I'm getting the hang of it.
  16. I have seen the river in places Andrew. I thought it looked pretty nice . Interesting to know about the free fishing etc. for my nephew who lives with me. I will have to take a drive to Sculthorpe too and have a look . Thanks a lot for that.
  17. Nice one Wayne. When I saw all them marks in the house I just assumed the cat had been pi**ing everywhere. Now I am going to sleep with the light on.
  18. After my umpteenth two hundred odd mile round trips looking for houses in Norfolk, I bought one today in Fakenham. Anyone know much about the place? I have looked on a few community type websites and found out a few bits and bobs. Seems ok from the few times I have been there, but local info. can be helpful. With thanks in advance........
  19. Just downloaded Google Earth as well. Looks like hours of fun...
  20. Thanks for all the information. I have just downloaded that site Newt and going to have a look. Cheers..........................

  23. Yeah, just spent the day down the Crouch Sam. You didn't miss anything anyway. One bite between us. Better luck next time.
  24. I am going to North Norfolk to stay with my sister for just over a week so rods are packed. Will just work around the snow I guess. Beaches are within two miles of her home anyway so not too far to travel...
  25. I agree Dan; don't seem like Christmas Eve to me.. Saying that, it don't seem like a Sunday either...
