  1. Alfred Hitchcock said I should show my best profile
  2. Still funny no matter how many times it's heard
  3. My children are naughty - can I smack them - No I lost my parental control on chastisement. My children want a bar of chocolate at playtime - can I give them one - No I lost my parental control on feeding them. My children want to play with water pistols on a hot day - can I let them - No I lost my parental control on what toys to let them play with. My children attend school smart but it's getting expensive - can I buy cheaper clothes - No I lost my parental control must buy through the school. I don't want my children 'f'ing all over the place - Can I stop them - No I lost my parental control swearing is accepted in school. I want my children to respect me - will they - No because someone else has taken away all my parental control. I want my children to learn about our culture - can they - No I lost my parental control school is too busy 'practising' other cultures and hasn't time to teach our own. So who has all my parental control - Oh yes those guys in suits 300 miles away. So I have unruly children, who have forgotten all the manners I taught them, all the respect I have given them, and all the love and fun of being a child. Whose fault is that - Oh yes thats when I suddenly regain my parental control and its my fault
  4. I don't actually remember how many okumas we have in the house with all five of us fishing but personally I have three from the range and have never had any problems. Provided you maintain your cheaper reels by keeping them clean and greasing them etc and treating them as if they were top of the range models they can last just as long as your shimanos etc.
  5. Remaining shut until test results come in from CEFAS. According to the secretary's latest report it looks as though it's spread into the Bridgewater canal system now
  6. The TPS system is a godsend. My parents who are pensioners were hounded with calls sometimes as many as 12 a day along with the computer aided calls where there is nobody on the other end. Whilst picking up the details of TPS from the website and registering them on their behalf. They now have complete silence. No nuisance calls, no silent calls. It has been a godsend and I would recommend the service to anyone being harassed by telemarketing companies.
  7. Congratulations...27 years .... WOW..... You would have been out on parole for murder by now Wishing you many healthy and happy years to come

    The Severn

Good Luck Graham hope it all comes together for you
  9. Forecast is 80 degrees in the NW for Monday. Don't blink or you'll miss summer
  10. Graham, just heard back from the secretary. The closures are still in force and will be until they have some positive feedback from CEFAS. He doesn't however envisage any of the river stretches to be closed. Might have a drive over to the Dee this afternoon to pass the time.
  11. I know darlin' we waited a year to do the three days at Sandiway only to get kicked off after piling in the bait. It's my birthday tomorrow and I was really looking forward to going Rixton. Now I'm completely stumped as to where to go. I don't want to resort to commercials. I've emailed the secretary but doubt I will hear from him in time to sort tomorrow out.
  12. Graham, Warrington committee were to have an emergency meeting last night. As yet I haven't heard anything.
  13. Had a lot of family commitments this past year so venturing down to the Severn hasn't been possible but it is on the agenda for this season if things settle down. The Trent is also on my hit list
  14. fished the Dane without success it was way too low. Had a few roach and Dace out the Mersey. Went to see a couple more stretches without success as I don't own a scythe I'm really gutted because we could have spent the saturday night on the Ribble
  15. In answer to your original post I've had a lot of tench around the 3-4lb mark and some lovely cru's upto 2lb 1oz. All my tench bar one have been male so there should be a fare few bigger females in there. Haven't personally seen any of the carp in there but haven't nightfished it yet. It gets extremely busy and pegs can be limited. We turned up for 6am a couple of times and only found three vacant pegs. You have to bare in mind it is a clay pit so be prepared to take most of the clay home with you if its a wet day
  16. Agree wholeheartedly but from what I gather the website has been frozen since shutting the forum down. Like you being some distance away, the website was my only way of knowing what was going on within WAA. Having three kids I can't drag them to meetings and talking to some anglers on the bank you get the old chinese whispers. I didn't even know there was a problem at Winsford when I booked to nightfish Sandiway or I wouldn't have bothered.
  17. Graham there was a big problem with regards the website because people like me used to go on and ask questions and be told 'speak to the secretary'. I asked why they couldn't have a section for WAA members only so we could discuss things openly. The reply I got was along the lines of it's too much work, too much time.
  18. Tradman, cheers for that darlin' The bailiff told me All Warrington AA waters were closed so we couldn't go to any others. Typical chinese whispers effect!
  19. That's where their website came in handy. I'm just glad we got the opportunity of staying at least one night the kids were really looking forward to it. One guy had only just arrived half hour before the bailiff asked him to leave.
  20. Les and Andrew had one knock each and nothing on float, ledger, feeders. I was building up a nice bed of hemp and pellets for the second night and was float fishing 4 maggots just above the weed to see if any silvers were around. Nothing showed at all until I placed it over the bed of hemp and pellets and then the two of them in quick succession. Following those two it dried up until this afternoon around 3pm when I had a tench over the same spot. I've just checked Lymm's website and they shut mostly pools over the last few weeks.
  21. According to the bailiff it's ALL Warrington Waters are now shut. It's started with a problem with the river weaver I'm lead to believe. This is controlled by a number of clubs. Had a couple of knocks through the night but nobody had any takes at all. Which, again according to the bailiff was unusual as there was no signs of any bream. I saw one carp top about 2am and Les saw one around 3am. I only had two perch around the pound mark and a tench around the 3-4lb mark which pinged off the hook with a late surge.
  22. Just been kicked off Sandiway half way through a two nighter. They have taken the decision to shut all Warrington waters immediately 'due to the high mortality of carp in the Cheshire area' That is what the official sign says they have pasted up everywhere. They shut Grey mist last night and have decided as a precautionary measure to shut all warrington waters whilst the Environment Agency carry out an investigation. Other clubs took the same step in the previous weeks so the rumours have it.
  23. Yep it's SHUT All Warrington Waters have been shut from today until further notice.
  24. Socksy I have seen many congers including their gnashers. All of which have been on TV and they can stay there
