  1. Great report Jon, Them Seals and Dolphins can be a bit off putting in the daylight when they pop up unannounced Berry Head, What a fantastic place to fish brings back some good memories Thanks, nifty.
  2. Izzet, Don't feel wary of commenting on here! ELO were next on my list. Probably the best live show I've been to was their 1980 ( I think, or was it 81?) concert at the NEC. You're not a Leicester City supporter are you?
  3. You've been watching "Gardeners World" tonight! Is Alan Titchyarse a relative?
  4. No, Just a " Translator " Here's a few phrases that might come in useful: Ow am ya - How are you? Yow A !! - You aren't Yow am - You are! Gooin - Going. (As in "Where am yow gooin") Hoss -Horse Pronunciation is important : eg, if you go to the cafe and ask for a Bun, emphasise the "U" like in Cum! Have a good day in the second city.
  5. Bruce Mcmillen had a lot of success back in the 60's/70,s with a baited spoon type lure fashioned from expanded metal, and also formica, adorned with something to give them flash (sequins and luminous plastic). These lures were shaped to look like a flatfish and measured 7in by 4in. It might be worth trying to cut a CD to a similar shape. I've just destroyed one trying to cut it with a pair of scissors but it must be possible somehow. With the inherent flash of the disc then you are half way there, and he used them to get Bass, Eels and Spurs as well as Flounder. Just got to find a way of cutting them to shape Stu
  6. Cheers Martin, Maybe next week for the tourney, ( part two). Tom is coming up for a go and the forecast is looking ok. New Quay could be worth a look for a Huss next week if the wind doesn't go North. Will try tomorrow for one. Richi, Simon, Kev. Have a good day out tomorrow. Hope the weather is kind for you South coast boys and Richi, will definitely see you at the NEC next month if you can make it. Stu
  7. Mine are a bit of an odd mix: 1. The Queen is dead - The Smiths. 2. The Wall - Pink Floyd. 3. Hatfull of Hollow - The Smiths. 4. Cheap Trick, Live at the Budokan. 5. Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath. And currently, something the wife is playing in the car by the Black eyed Peas. nifty
  8. Shall be going out Saturday afternoon/ evening if anyone fancies a trip. Just got to see which way the winds coming from before finalising where but will probably be New Quay as long as it stays more southerly than Westerly.
  9. Fair play Dave, When you said you were going to go to the gym and get in shape, I thought "It won't last" but you've proved me wrong.
  10. Phil, Can't you think of nothing better to do than sit chatting to a bunch of sad old gits on an internet forum?
  11. More like "Mr Sheen I believe but that is only what I've been told Sorry Bill if it was false info
  12. I sa, sa, sa, sa, say " could you say that again Granville"
  13. Let them off at midnight Martin, and I'll see if I can see them from our house. Or are you on about the contents of your wardrobe? In which case, I think you can now get Saturday Night Fever on DVD Boogie on down Brother
  14. Most of the boys who have had to suffer my company at the meets over the last season have probably heard this played on my phone at the end of the day when we're all p!"%%^d but it brings back some happy memories of the year just going, and I'm looking forward to some memorable trips in 2007. Happy New Year http://www.huaren.com/fun/english.htm
  15. Just made sense of this after the last drop of Vodka's gone
  16. I've got to give up blanking, I'm spending too much time deep in thought
  17. Gareth, Do you ever have one of them days when you think, what the F£%&" am I doing here? Well today was one of them days. Then I remembered listening to the news on the way up there this morning and the goings on overseas, and suddenly a bit of wind and rain ain't nothing to worry about. Stu.
  18. Sounds like you had a good day out on the water even if the fishing was a bit slow. I did contemplate coming down there with you last night when the weather was looking a bit iffy but I'd got a bag of Sardines the wife wanted shifted out of the freezer. Are we allowed a second try, or have we used up our allowance? Freddie Flintoff
  19. Phooey has one of the Pentax Optio models (not sure which one) and as soon as I've got a spare few quid shall get one after seeing how it performed last summer when we were out Toping. He just dunked it in the sea, no messing and came up with this. Just be a bit patient, He was battling a fair old tide run http://video.tinypic.com/player.php?v=14bnolk
  20. Bad luck Richi. I think someone else ought to pick the dates for the tourney in future. That Starvin chaps Jinxed
  21. Well done Mark, glad you managed to trouble the scorer. I had a ride up to Bala after deciding that Coniston might have been a wasted journey with the predicted weather. Got there at 7 am and pulled onto the car park and found the water right upto the tarmac. Couldn't see much in the dark so pulled upto the water and shone my headlights up the lake. I tell you there was surf on the puddle Bought my ticket from the machine and went in search of a bit of shelter but there was none to be found. I decided that since I was there I might as well have a go so after downing a flask of tea, and praying for the rain to stop, I got out and kitted up as quick as I could. To cut a long boring story short, by 4pm I'd had one run on a Sardine and dropped it, was soaking wet and cold and paddling back to the pavilion after scoring a big fat nought Roll on the Summer.
  22. Bad luck today boys but at least you were out fishing. Hope you have a better day tomorrow the forecast for up here is looking half decent, so might be tempted to go somewhere myself. Stu. Note to self; Don't bother risking a black eye to collect a few Pubes. Not worth it, looks like they only attract CRABS!!!!!!!
  23. Pike puddles, they're the way to go boys. Hope your having a good day
