  1. Hi fishtr8 How did you put the silcon in place? I followed advice from here and cut the end off a full tube and squidged a BIG dollop in the kayak hull, then pushed it down gently and weighted it until it was dry (24 hours at least!) and it has worked brilliantly since!. This is the second time I have done this as the first one worked loose after a season or two, but I used to strap the yak down on the car differently then, and this probably made it work loose!. Since using J Bars on the motor, the silicon (BIGGER BLOB this time) seems to be holding very well!. The picture of the bottom is superb. I know this because I tried it out over known a reef that clears on the end of very high tides!. I am sure yours will be fine Don't try it out on very shallow water as you will get a false impression!. All the best............Dave SDD~~~~~
  2. Oh for Petes sake buy one or dont!!
  3. Hi and welcome Wavegoat Not seen this hayak myself but googled this pic on the robin hood watersports site! Looks like a reasonable kayak. They also have OK kayaks on this site, but personally I would buy my new yak from Bournmouth canoes for the customer service SDD~~~
  4. Hey fella, fingers and toes crossed here all is well mate A nicer bloke couldn't be found so heres hopin you're ok mate. Dave
  5. Hang on! I've found just the yak for ya! Dave
  6. Well, fair one If however you get a NZ scupper, there are two captive screw threads on the central column. These take standard S/S bolts (M something!) and, if you look at my pic in the posts above you will see that I have added a bike drink bottle holder. This cost £2.99 and simply screwed in place (must have been made for this) so you can guzzle to your hearts content ha ha I must admit, I do like a nice cold drink of orange or the like while at sea as the salt seems to make me parched!. Dave
  7. Because of the narrower beam, the scupper can be a tight fit for the errrrrrrrrrr beamier kayaker As for cup holder, cmon!! ha ha SDD~~~~
  8. Some small codling and pollock Kev (requested by neighbour! ha ha) SDD~~~~~
  9. No probs at all pal!! the problem with text is that it is an emotionless medium! ha ha. The word "fine" can mean great go ahead, unless my missus says it when I want a pass out ha ha I actually like the idea of inflatables. The freedom to just chuck in the boot and go must be fantastic! All the best Dave
  10. Only trying to help, never mind eh
  11. Speciman has a similar car and puts his 15ft scupper pro on it too Try getting this into the multi storey carpark SDD~~~~
  12. I mean a P15 purely for a fishing kayak The reason I opted for the scupper is that I do a lot of distance leisure paddling too and it is an easy yak to paddle IMO SDD~~~~
  13. Hey John, why don't you buy a cheapo rubber doormat and hang it over the side where you reel in to, as a anti hook device!. You could put a hole in one corner and have it tethered in case it falls off, plus you can then lift it clear of the water when moving, just an idea for a cheap solution to the hisssssssssssss issue ha ha SDD~~~~
  14. p.s. it is also very capable of doing this!! he he Dave
  15. It IS a fast kayak, I can keep up with my mates sit inside (same as one I had but lost in a fire) and thats a Perception carolina. It was my concern when I got my first SOT that he would leave me standing.... NOPE ha ha I have the seat though for my aged bum to be comfy!! You DO lose a little stability because of the narrower beam, but you only really notice when you sit on a P15 and realise you can sit sideways and rock em to the gunnels!! but the SPTW is ok for this too but not as forgiving as the P15 I must say. The only yak I would change mine for is the P15 as I have long legs and need the space Good luck SDD~~~~
  16. Excellent report Gilbo Superb pics too, that's what it all about F~U~N the fish are just niceties! Cheered me up no end that report! Here comes the summer ~~~~~~~~~ Ta SDD~~~~~
