    Arbroath

Went down one of our local beaches for bait this morning, was getting Rag nearly 3 ft long aint seen them as big as that for years dug rag/lug and got a load of cockles. Decided to head up to Auchmithie north of Arbroath, fished the flood for a couple of hours, never had a touch so headed down to Arbroath. As the tide had 3 hours to go before flood I had to go round the cliffs and make my way down the rocks. Set up 2 rods and started lobbing out rag/cockle lug/cockle combos. within 3-4 mins I was into my 1st Codling....nice fish of 2.8lb, some very nice Cod followed this...fish at 6.3lb 3.9lb and loads more around the 2lb mark, had a good Pollock of 3lb and a couple of small Coalies, also managed to bring in a nice Ballin Wrasse about the 2.8lb mark, bites were coming fairly quick, at 1 time I was getting hits on both rods. Ended up with 19 Cod, 1 Pollock, 3 Coalies, and 1 Wrasse bloody great days fishing will be back asap

Just to follow up on Snatchers last thread, I was down at Eyemouth yesterday, went down the cliff path to the left of the cannons pretty hairy going for an old git like me !! set up rod and chucked out bait...was getting some good bites but swell/waves were snagging me up quite a bit....since been told that you are better fishing this mark on a calm day ? probably right because I nearly got bloody drowned from a big roller that came in when I wasnae lookin thought to meself ok ya silly bugger time to head up...headed further round the cliff to a nice rocky outcrop and set up again, manged to get some nice codling best was about 3lb hope this helps John

    Oban

Fished out of Oban today, was on Ronnie Cambells boat Laura Dawn...weather was crap s/westerly 5-7 rain at times Fishing was a bit slow to start, getting the odd doggie, and thornback, then we got the 1st run of the day, Dutch guy that was with us got a good run, hits into a barn door that just sat there. 15 mins later he's got it on the move...another 15 mins later the bloody thing fell off not a lot happened for another 2-3 hours then my reel started screamin again it took ages to move the fish off the bottom, after an hour I had the Skate on the top, only for it to wave ta ta an head for the depths by this time the Dutch guy is into another fish as well after another 20 mins I had a 180lb Skate the Dutch guy had a 223lb fish....bloody good day...well was for me seen as my only other Skate was 25lb both fish returned safely
